PELVIC ORGAN PROLAPSE - Help

6 weeks PP and since last night, after lifting a bath full of water, I've felt something stuck in my vagina which is uncomfortable constantly, sitting, walking and standing I can feel it.
I then starting urinating before I had a chance to pull my skirt up - and then couldn't stop the flow.
Upon inspection, by touch and sight, I can see a rectocele at the entrance of my vagina, and given the urinary incontinence it's fair to say probable bladder prolapse too.
I'm only 30 and it's my first birth.
I should also mention I did kegals before birth and after, even with physio guidance ante-natal.
Yet to see one since my prolapse though but will very soon.

I have a few questions for anyone who's been in my position or similar;

How can you walk or sit ever again without discomfort? It's just constant....

Will sex always be bad, as in, the looseness and numbness? Things obviously aren't tight anymore despite being so pre birth but I'm worried sex isn't going to be good anymore. We haven't been married long so I'm devastated about that.

Will having another baby make this worse?

Kegals obviously will help - but how much did it help you?

It's just happened last night - Will things improve quickly or slowly? I'm meant to start a few shifts nursing in 3 weeks as I need money for rent, I can't not, but will it make this worse?

Why dont you seek medical help and they can put a pessary ring in for you and discuss your options.

I have had this. I was only 19 when I had my DS. I thought it was a prolapse (and technically it was), I could feel the bulge and I was actually struggling to urinate.

I went to the doctor and got checked and he said that he didn't think I'd need treatment. To come back for a check up X amount of time later. In the meantime I did lots of levels and just healed.. and it did actually all go back. I think it was just 'loose' from the birth. Try not to do heavy lifting and see a GP. But there's a chance it could go back to normal. :) I've annoyingly had it after every birth actually. And I've had 3 DC.

* kegels, not levels.

Give it waaaay longer than 6 weeks OP.
Mine was like yours after (big) baby #1, recovered by about 6 months give or take. Much worse after (medium size) baby #2, took maybe 6 months again to fully repair (good days where it doesn't exist, bad days where I can feel 'something').
Had massive baby #3 6 months ago and it's almost totally gone back to normal. Slight heavy feeling if I've carried one of the older children or run anywhere.

Do kegels religiously and consult your doc if it lasts longer than 6 months or so.

The long hold on kegels hold it all in, I understand, the short 'bursts' are for continence.

I can't skip or do box jumps in the gym. Everything else fine.

That's encouraging @GoT1904
Did you have issues with peeing or pooing whilst you had the bulge?
What about sex and looseness?

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment too x

I did yeah! I would have to lean forwards or rock back and forth to do either sometimes. Sex was fine really. It feels a bit weird after birth anyway for a while but it does come back to normal. I can't remember how long it took tbh, but it doesn't last forever. Your body has been through a lot and it will take time to heal, but you'll get there. ❤️

I was reading the other day, our rib cages actually open when we're pregnant to accommodate everything and they don't go sort of.. back to normal.. for 6 months either. So a lot is going on in our bodies and it does take some time to settle. Sex etc will be fine I'm sure. Sorry I can't tell you how long. Not many people mention this side to childbirth lol. Xx

Hi
i know it’s been a while but would you mind updating how it went with your prolapse? I feel a bulge also down there and was told it was a cervix prolapse but I don’t have any issues with passing my bowels or urinating yet. Haven’t attempted sex yet.
