Urethral Prolapse?

LambChopsMcGee · 09/07/2022 11:16

Hi all,

So I have posted about prolapse before I think. I have a mild one after a difficult birth 6 years ago. I thought well managed and I run sometimes (wearing the EVB support shorts).

But this week I have been ill and very weak, and maybe overdid walking when I wasn't up to it - I had to take DD to the dentist. But anyway I think I have a prolapsed urethra. I didn't even know this was possible.

It's sort of bulging like a donut. I feel really gross and sad about it. Peeing isn't hard as such but it feels weird and different and like I've not fully finished.

It's different to the normal prolapse as I can't manually push it back in (tmi, sorry).

Does anyone have experience of this?? Does it go back in ever? I read online that sometimes the treatment is estrogen cream, which I had for a while post birth to help with recovery.

I will see the GP next week but I have my period at the moment so wanted to wait till that finished.

Any advice or stories appreciated.

Also for managing this longer term. I thought i was good with kegels but will do more (I have a Kegel 8 machine too). I am a fine weight but will try and drop some and get more exercise.

thanks

I had this along with bladder and uterine prolapse some years ago. I could only void my bladder by pressing above my pubic bone. The positive was I had no incontinence. For me, the solution was a pelvic floor repair.

Thanks for the reply.
That sounds more serious than where I am now, though I am worried it will worsen.

Do you mean surgical repair?

Yes, surgical repair but not hysterectomy. It was probably about 18 years ago though so treatment may have moved on.

I have never heard of this, so thank you for sharing. Obviously no advice here, but I'm so sorry you're suffering. Can you let us me know the outcome of you visit the gp

Thanks.

I didn't know it was possible either, and I'd read quite a bit about pelvic organ prolapse since my original problem.

I'll update when I've seen the GP.

Anyone else who's experienced anything like it please share!

Hiya - did you have any update on this since your doctors appointment? :)

I came in to ask the same question.
