Delaying period

Hi I am just looking for some advice regarding Provera (Medroxyprogesterone acetate). I was prescribed this as I want to delay my August period but my doctor told me to try it in July first.
I am on my second day of taking this to delay my period (3 times a day, 3 days before my period). I am just wondering if for example with me delaying my July period by a week, does this mean my August period would be a week later than it is currently meant to be or will it arrive at the time it is currently scheduled for? Hope this makes sense, thanks in advance.
Photos attached of when my periods are currently meant to be (i am on holiday 3rd August - 12th august)

When I used provera I had no period the following month and only a light withdrawal bleed on same month of stopping use

Hi, I was hoping you might post an update with how you went? Did your cycle for August end up changed? I’m in the exact same situation and have the Provera tablets but wanted to see how it affects other ladies future cycles before I take them. I have the same question you did, if I take them will they move the dates of my future periods because that’s what I really want.

Hi. I can’t remember fully now what happened but I trialled the tablets in July to see how I reacted to them then had them in august which is when I was going away. It helped delay my period and I think my period started about a week after I took the last tablet. Then my September period was when it was meant to be originally anyway (as far as I remember)

Thank you for getting back to me. Guess I will just have to take them and see what it does to me. I am going away on holiday in a few months and was hoping if I take them now for a bit it might move my whole cycle permanently so that I don't have to take a tablet 3 times a day when I am on holiday. Oh well, I will just start taking them now and see what happens I guess.

Another thing my doctor spoke to me about was taking certain contraceptive pills but not having a week off so it wouldnt bring my period on but I wasn’t wanting to be on any contraception but it could be worth talking to your doctor about this method. Good luck and hope you get something sorted
