How to stop my hair falling? PCOS, Help, Going bald soon?

I'm 40 years of age and was told by GP I have Polycystic ovaries without the syndrome. I have noticed hair have been falling over the past years. It looks like I may have very less hair left in a few years time, if I don't do anything about it. Does PCOS cause hair loss?

I had a baby 5 years ago and then did breastfeeding. I then took this vitamin once and it helped with the hair strength and falling, Vitabiotics Perfectil Max 84 Tablets. B

But then when I stopped it, they start falling again. Should I just continue with the vitamins, or is there anything else that can help?

PCOS sufferer here also - have you been offered a treatment plan by your GP or referred to Endocrinology at all? In my experience, GPs are not hugely well informed about PCOS.

It can affect hair because it causes hormones to be out of whack (eg. one element of PCOS can be changes in testosterone levels in women which affects hair loss / growth etc. It's why many women with PCOS also suffer from excessive facial hair). My consultant recommended going back on the pill once i've finished having babies, because it helps to even out the hormones. Also a PCOS friendly diet (low sugar, low carb) and plenty of vitamins will help - but it takes me about 6 months to see any difference if my PCOS has got a bit out of control so you have to give it time to work.

no nothing further other than just the GP saying I have polycystic ovaries without the syndrome. I didn't go back and GP didn't say to come back for anything.

I have cut out sugar recently since feb, probably have it at odd times at occasions. the vitamins were helpful but agree it does take some time to see effect. also the facial hair is there. I'm not sure why GP said without the syndrome, maybe I don't have many other things that other women with PCOS experience?

i'll go back on the vitamins I think... is there nothing else that can help creams for hair?
