Ok long post so bare with me ! so I had my 1st dc at 24 7 years ago, it was a hard birth ( 60+ hours, had epidural, medicine to help quicken the labour etc) and from that day I've never been able go a day when I haven't accidentally peed a bit coughing or sneezing or laughing etc. the first two weeks after I had my daughter I had no control over my bladder it was as if it would just pour out of me but I was told it was just the strain of child birth and that my pelvic floor was stretched and stressed due to the long birth and that it would be back to normal. After a while it did get better to the point where I mentioned above I was peeing during laughing sneezing coughing etc. fast forward to today I've had 3 children in total, my last daughter was born in sept 2020 - and the bladder/ urine issues have got worse. I cannot run anywhere with with children or I wet myself a significant amount, if I squat for whatever reason like I'm playing with kids or sorting out laundry then urine will leak out, trampolining is a no go. It's that bad that I take a spare pair of underwear with me to work and wear a pad, any sudden heavy lifting or anything and I pee. I have , embarrassingly , leaked during sex a number a times, which is horrifying but DH didn't even notice, even when I pointed it out. For awhile now it's kind of just a running joke
Between my kids and dh that don't make mummy laugh too much she will pee! Or mummy can't go on the trampoline she will wee! And I join in on this just assuming it's what happens after child birth. I do pelvic floor exercises often and was really good at doing them whilst pregnant. I'm not overweight 9st 5 and am 5ft1 and my children were quite small in weight - well average, 7lbs 5 7lbs 10 and 6lbs 8. All births were vaginal, only first was with an epidural the other two were natural with just gas and air and a lot better ( 2nd 8 hours 3rd 3 hours) Today on the toilet I felt really full feeling in my vagina. Have felt this before, but it was really bulging today and I had a feel and there's a lot of bulging and pressure down there, it's also stinging abit and I feel like my bladder is never empty. I just wondered if anyone had any symptoms of this and could advise really? It's not normal is it this amount of peeing when out an about? I guess I've just always assumed naively that it was just what childbirth did to you but it's like I'm Seeing it for the first time now where I'm wondering if I actually might have some form of bladder prolapse that has been going on for awhile and causing these issues?? It's making me quite upset actually writing down everything in black and white as it does affect my life day to day. I remember a few years ago now being on a roller coaster and the pressure and dramatic dropping and swooping motion made Me leak and I was mortified it would be on the seat after, it wasn't THANK GOD but it's really embarrassing. I have to carry deodorant and perfume everywhere and spray over my clothes in that general area frequently due to the leaking even with pads as I'm conscious I smell. I have a very sensitive stomach as well in terms of sickness so if I'm Ill then the first thing to happen is Ill be sick and it's at a point now where I know I'll be sick in the toilet so I take my pants off and lay a towel down as I know I will fully wet myself due to force of the vomiting.

I'm so sorry this is long I'm just realising it's not normal and I wondered if anybody had any help or info regarding this??

Thanks so much for reading this much !!!

It does sound like a prolapsed bladder. Leaking that much certainly calls for some treatment. I've got one so your whole story was like something I would have written.

I'd suggest seeing your doctor and getting a referral to a urologist for possible treatment options. A phyio referral would also be a good idea - you mention that you do pelvic floor exercises but a physio can give you more suggestions .

Once you've got to the stage of being able to feel the bulge , it has got to the point of no return, so if you want some relief, do see the GP and physio and get things happening. Meantime, the larger capacity incont pads will help with the leaking . Good luck.

@starrynight21 thanks so much for the reply, I just can't believe I've gone this long just accepting it as normal and that's how all women are after childbirth? But I will definitely be contacting my GP on Tuesday and asking for a referral! How long have you been having treatment for yours and is it helping? Thanks! X

This is exactly what’s happening to me after the birth of my baby a year ago. Severe incontinence and prolapse. I’m getting treatment, but it’s slow. Definitely go to your GP, and if you can afford it, go to a private women’s health physio (look for ones that offer ‘Mummy MOT’. They can tell you quickly exactly what’s going on, and how to exercise.

@Ladylalaboo1
I've had this for many years - I think I got it after I had a hysterectomy, that's a common reason why women get it. I haven't actually had anything done about it - I did see a urologist about it a few years ago, but the surgical options didn't give me any confidence. I saw a physio who gave me a set of exercises, and that did make some difference but I still have incontinence at the slightest reason . I just learned to live with it, to be honest. I use the heavy-duty incont pads and I do avoid the obvious situations like trampolining !

I think it's important to look into your options, and to do some research , and then make up your own mind about what to do. The good thing is that it doesn't actually get any worse, once it gets to the point that you've arrived at. Your bladder won't drop any more than it is now - mine is exactly the same since I first discovered it about 15 years ago. A lot depends on what you're willing to put up with . I wish you luck, and hope you get some relief .

Surely doing Dr Kegel exercises will help with this?
