Hi,
I’m really worried what’s going on with my body and wondered if anyone had had the same?
I’ve been off contraception for a while and been having regular cycles, give or take a couple of days as DH and I were starting to try for baby 2.
Next week will be 3 months without a period. I’ve also had excessive tiredness, lower backache, nausea, dizziness, feeling bloated and heavy in my tummy/pelvis, occasional bouts of cramps, weight gain and mood swings. I did 2x tests after my period didn’t show in Jan, both negative.
I did a further one a couple of weeks ago, again negative. I spoke to the Dr yesterday who said it sounds like pregnancy, book in for bloods, take another test and an ultrasound appointment will be in the post. I had the bloods yesterday, results today just say ‘no further action’. I did another test tonight and again, negative. I can’t speak to the Dr about a follow up for another 2 weeks so the receptionist told me.
I’m so fed up of feeling like this and not knowing what’s going on.

That's appalling given you had three negative pg test results by then. Was this person not already aware of this?.

At the very least you need to contact another doctor because you are just being fobbed off and otherwise messed around. If you are in the UK I would contact the practice manager at your GP about your treatment to date.

Lack of menstrual cycle can be caused by hormonal imbalances like polycystic ovaries. Its very common and can be diagnosed through blood tests (you need a day 2 test and that can be done on the 2nd of the month) and internal ultrasound scans. Another possible cause here is problems with the thyroid gland and that can be detected also through blood tests.

Thank you for replying Attila and some advice.

Yes, I made the Dr aware of the 3 tests I’d taken. They wouldn’t allow me a f2f appointment, I was only allowed a telephone call and then it was just fobbed onto booking bloods with a nurse.
From what the receptionist was muttering at me, the blood tests check kidneys, HCG, a blood count and thyroid. I am in the UK too
