I need help, i'm so scared right now. Has anyone on here had a fibroid before? What was your symptoms and treatment? I am in constant pain (feels like bad period pain) but on my left side with stabbing pain every so often. I had an ultra sound last month and the guy who did it said it looked like a fibroid. I spoke to my dr the next day who also said the same but was urgently referring me to gynae incase its something more serious. Its also 13cm so its big and pushing on my kidneys. I have just been for an mri scan tonight and i'm just freaking out about the whole thing. My periods aren't heavy and i don't bleed inbetween either

Yes, me. Diagnosed nearly two years ago and still waiting for removal. It's about the size of a honey dew melon and makes me look about 8mths pregnant.

Symptoms were awful periods, kidney pain, bloating, constant need to pee, large, firm lump in stomach.

I am now on Decapeptyl injections to try and reduce it or at least stop it growing and Tibolone to counter the effects of the Decapeptyl!

Hi I have two, mostly they've been fine. I didn't know I had them until I was 10 weeks pregnant and they grew very fast which was painful. After pregnancy they shrank down I was scanned a year later and they were tiny. I'm perimenopausal now and awaiting a scan for heavy painful periods which could be related but mostly I wouldn't have known they were there .

I have numerous Fibroids and suffered with pain and heavy bleeding as a result of them. I have had numerous treatments. The gynaecologist should do a hysteroscopy, which is camera inside the uterus and sometimes they will do a biopsy if needed.

In terms of treatments, fibroids can be surgically removed either by a myomectomy (abdominal surgery) or through a myosure procedure (removed vaginally). Whether they can be removed and the method they use to remove them will be dependent on its size and location within the uterus.

From my own experience, I have tried the pill, tranexemic acid, Myosure and a endometrial ablation. None has worked, so I am now on Prostap, with Tibolone to counteract the side effects, and I will be having a hysterectomy next week Sad
