Expecting to have one this year and wondering what / how much time I need to factor in for recovery and getting back to (desk job) work.

How much time did you have off?

Thanks Smile

@Sidge that’s exactly as I felt as I recovered really quick from all c sections
my consultant told me all hysterectomy are different as I was getting upset as everyone was going home but me and I was last
he then explained my hysterectomy and how hard it was and how much he had taken which made me see things differently
I’m only 38 myself and consider myself fit and healthy
as I say it’s only been 2 1/2 weeks so far so maybe I’ll feel better this time next week fingers crossed 🤞 xx

@Kimmismth I hope you’re feeling better soon. I think after multiple sections there is so much more scarring and adhesions, and the uterus is bulkier.

I was in for 48 hours then home, I was sore and exhausted but better at home. I was much older than you lol (46). Once home I just slept when I wanted to sleep, ate well and pottered. I had children to look after but they were older (teenagers) so no lifting. The heaviest thing I lifted was the kettle. I started going out for little walks as soon as I could for fresh air and exercise but had a Nana nap every day.

@iPaddy don’t be afraid to rant or ask anything before or after the op I know we all have different experiences but it’s good to talk and listen to each other and it really does help chatting to people in same position xx
