Hypopressives for prolapse any good?

Hi
I've recently did a checkup with a women's health physio as after baby number 2 I now have some mild symptoms of bladder prolapse. Sure enough, she diagnosed me with grade 1/2 prolapse and suggested to try hypopressive exercises, as Kegels don't seem to do the trick.
I hadn't heard of it before, so I guess it's quite a new thing? Has anyone had good results with that? And do you think I should book a course (the physio I saw suggested booking hers, obviously, which is £400!) or can I learn it properly by just watching the YouTube stuff? I would be happy to pay the money if it could potentially save me from needing surgery later in life. I also really want to continue running, was hoping to get back to at least 10k distance, but that doesn't seem to be such a good idea with a symptomatic prolapse? Would really appreciate if people would share their experiences. Thanks!

I can't help unfortunately, but just bumping for you because I'm in the same position as you and interested in hypopressives too. I'm not a runner, but love climbing and want to get back to it one day.
Hopefully someone knowledgeable will be along soon Smile

Hi - I've also been recently diagnosed, grade 1/2 prolapse and that's after having pelvic floor PT during the post partum period. I'm still EBF at 7 months so hoping when I give up it helps to improve the symptoms. I'm going to give the hypopressives a go - I've found a trainer near me...

Highly recommended by a friend of mine who is in the know, though I've not done them myself. I find the physio exercises worked for me

Hi, did you try the hyperpressive breathing? Interested to know how you got on. I'm looking into it myself in YouTube to see if can improve things.

*hypopressive, I meant to type.

I've been doing hypopressives for almost a year now and they definitely help with my prolapse. I learnt how to do them with an online trainer who was great. But, I've got to say, that although they help they haven't reversed the prolapse, unfortunately. It's more manageable now though. I do kegels too using the NHS squeezy app which I find really helpful too.

I hope you don’t mind me asking, what grade was your prolapse. And when you say it’s more manageable what does that mean?

im trying to learn what to possible expect and manage my expectations around the diagnoses

My worst symptom has been abdominal pain - that dragging sensation like a period pain and hypopressives and kegels definitely help with that. But I also have a pessary now and that's made the most difference. The prolapse isn't getting any better but I don't get the discomfort I used to which is what I mean by manageable. Good luck. It's hard to deal with at first but gets easier.
