Treatment or operations for wetting myself when running

I'm fed up of going running and leaking

I've tried kegel exercises and been to physio previously but it hasn't helped

Has anyone had any surgery or treatment for this, and has it worked?

No but watching with interest. 17 years after giving birth and being told my pelvic floor is great I’m still waiting for someone to tell me what the problem is. Been back on waiting list since 2018

I totally understand where you are coming from with this problem. After 3 DC, my bladder was next to useless! I tried all the exercises under the sun, and nothing worked.

About 6 years ago I had bladder sling surgery using a mesh implant. Recovery was slow - about 6 weeks, but I have had no problems at all.

It honestly changed my life. I can run, sneeze and cough without leaking! However, I am not sure if they still do this operation now due to problems with some types of mesh used.

I would go back to your doctor and see what else they can offer you.

Good luck OP

Stop running first.

I had an operation for prolapse and was told no high impact exercise ever.

Suggest having a good read of the website of Michelle Kenway who is a women's physio specialising in all of this. She has videos on the site and lists of safe and unsafe exercises.

This might sound an odd thing but depending on your age...
I had some vulval/vaginal dryness and discomfort in my early 50s, went to GP and was given topical oestrogen to use down there. This has not only solved the problem I got it for but has also dramatically improved urinary issues which I had had for far longer than the dryness

Jingling - I know running is awful for prolapses but it's so good for me mentally, there's nothing else like it for me

So trying to find a way to still be able to run

But you are making it worse :(

If you have the operation to help, you would be advised I'm sure to be careful about high impact.

First step is an appt with a urogynae, to discuss treatment and how that looks for you. They can use bulking agents, to lift everything up, as well as traditional surgery.

Can you not cycle instead? Sounds like high impact exercise is making your situation worse.
