No period - Should I be Concerned?

I had the Mirena coil removed on 12th December. (had it for 5 years with occasional light bleeds). On 15th December I got a period which was fairly heavy to begin with which was fairly normal to how I remember them being before. According to my tracker I am now 7 days overdue. I have had some of the symptoms - sore breasts, mood swings - but no period (and negative preg tests). At what point should I start being concerned about the lack of period? Do I just see what happens over the next few weeks/couple of months? I'm 38 so slightly paranoid about what my body is doing as I am hoping to conceive if I can.

The Mirena has hormones in it (I'm on my third) so it's not surprising you haven't swung back to normal.

I wouldn't worry for a second, although I see it's stressful when you're TTC. Good luck and I hope it comes back soon for you.

I wouldn't rely on the tracker to be accurate - it has no idea what's going on in your body so even in a regular cycle it's more likely than not to give you the wrong ovulation dates.

It can take 6 months for periods to regulate after birth control, sometimes even longer so I wouldn't worry yet. It might be good to read about ovulation tests and BBT so that you can accurately track ovulation when your next period comes.

Thanks both. I'll stop assuming the worst already. It's so odd though, the advice you're given. They all tell you that you go back to normal "straight away". It's not exactly helpful in setting expectations.
