Menstrual cup issues and cloth pad recommendations

I have terribly heavy periods. I fill my 15ml cup about 3/4 way every 1.5-2hours. It's okay but sometimes it leaks as it has overflown before this. I check my cervix position every time before inserting and it opens fully each time but i constantly feel like i am clenching to hold it in. I think i have a short vagina/low cerxix. It is also tilted and i have to push the cup up and then sort of down and towards my front for it to be in the correct position. Ive tried three different cups and have the same issue each time.

I was reading old threads and alot of people said they use cloth pads if they didnt get on with a cup. Does anyone have any recommendations for pads for such a heavy flow? Without the cup i regularly bled through clothes and onto my chair at work and would often wake in a pool of blood. This is using a super tampon and maxi pad so in that respect the cup has improved things and i still want to use something environmentally friendly, but just cannot get to grips with this clenching feeling.

So yes, am i doing something wrong? And does anyone have any cloth pad recommendations please if i were to give up the cup? Also tips on washing cloth pads please, and storing used ones until more than one needs washed?

Thanks

Have you tried different brands of menstrual cup? They vary in size / shape / rigidity.

I've never used a cup but I've been using washable pads for years now. I thought I'd never recoup the outlay given my age but here I am 3 years later and still using the same ones (menopausal). My period is only heavy for a couple of days so not sure how helpful this is if yours is much heavier than mine but came on to recommend earthwise girls. I've just bought these but haven't tried them yet earthwisegirls.co.uk/product/imse-active-night-pads-3pk/ They're night time pads but are much larger than I expected. The best ones I've bought so far that never leak are these ones earthwisegirls.co.uk/product/earthwise-pad-exclusives-long/ They can get really full and still never leak for me - unlike disposable ones. I've just got my daughter using reusables when she can now. I am a bit ikky about trying a cup and like my reusables. I normally just rinse them and leave near the washing machine and throw in with towels, sheets etc or on their own when I've got enough. I also have a bucket that i chuck them in and soak if there's quite a few. I do rinse them out first under a tap til they're clear and just peg them on the line once washed (I have an indoor washing line).

Little Lambs pads are fabulous. Still looking new after many months. Rinse in cold water as soon as I remove it, sometimes leave to soak in cold water while I'm in the shower then they go in with the usual 30 degree clothes wash.

Cheaky wipes pads are rubbish. So thick and bulky, they slide around and feel like a sausage. I can't leave the house in them for fear I have a big lump sticking out at the back. Also, they stain so badly and after a couple of washes they've gone rough and actually cause rubbing like fine sandpaper. Awful.

I've only tried those two brands but don't need to try more because Little Lambs are great for me. Good luck finding ones that suit you.
