Hey everyone,

So after fighting gynaecology for the 4 years I have been in Plymouth I got admitted to hospital over what they thought was biliary colic.
However, upon having an ultrasound, they discover a small simple cyst at the endomyometrial junction which is suggestive of early changes to the adenomyosis. This means that they have found that my uterus tissue is growing in the muscular wall of my uterus. They were really concerned about this and have sent all of the information to the gynaecology team in the hospital.

Gynaecology have not been very helpful since I moved to Plymouth and so I am hoping that they will now give me the help that I need as I cannot cope with this pain anymore.
I am not sure if this is good or bad news and am telling a bit confused by it all. Does anybody have any advice that would help me understand this more.
I am autistic and so I get very confused when it comes to stuff like this.
Any help is greatly appreciated

Sorry you are so worried.

Adenomyosis is not in itself serious and is quite common. It's like endometriosis but the lining grows into the muscle rather than other pelvic areas.

I'm not sure if you mean you already knew that your had adeno, or if the cyst is a development in your existing adeno and is more significant.

The only treatment is usually drugs to control cramp at period time, or possibly a hysterectomy.
