Is there anyone who had stress urinary incontinence in pregnancy who made a full recovery??

Is this possible or is the best I can hope for that it doesn't get worse? I'm heavily pregnant and was aware my pelvic floor was left weak after my first pregnancy and ventouse delivery + episiotomy as I had some issues with pain post-partum years ago which physio sorted. But I never had any issues with continence until this pregnancy despite continuing my PFEs. I had about 5 instances of very mild stress urinary incontinence in the whole pregnancy up until I was about 36w then about another 5 all whilst sneezing just in the last fortnight alone. Have opted for vaginal birth and starting to worry this may not be a good idea and also worried about the future. I'm not even 30 and already pee when I sneeze! Is it possible to make a full recovery from this post partum or is the best outcome preventing it from deteriorating?

Yes, me!

There's a physio who is on twitter, she used to be on here, Gussie Grips. She's doing a campaign starting tomorrow #DryByChristmas, she'll tweet and remind you to do the exercises. She's Gusset_Grippers on insta. It's research, she's going to look at doing a public health campaign, sounds like a good idea to me. She's funny, really funny, and good at explaining why it matters. Had it herself, apparently.

Tell your midwife, they will be able to sort you out.

Thanks for your positive response and will deffo check out that Twitter. My midwife is utterly useless tbh, I have told her, she basically shrugged and told me to speak to the obstetrician about it as I had a telephone consultation booked in with them to discuss possibly having an ELCS for various reasons. The obstetrician said that she thought it sounded like the incontinence was pregnancy-related and having a section may not change the outcome and she wouldn't recommend it just based on my current symptoms but told me to ask for a physio referral post-partum if it continues. Which should be reassuring but I didn't find it so to be honest Sad. Especially as I know getting physio referrals here are sooo hard with massive waits.

I was really worried in my last few weeks of my second pregnancy as was having loads of issues with incontinence. Always when I sneezed and a few other times as well Blush

Had a vaginal birth and everything went back to normal pretty much as soon as she was born. Hope that gives you hope!

Squeezy app is good, that is how I reminded myself to do them. Your not alone, I was leaking towards end of pregnancy, at least you are going to do something about it - I waited far too long.

Ask to be referred by your GP now. And, if you want an ELCS then I thought you are supposed to be able to have an ELCS? You don't need a "reason" other than that's what you want?

Thanks @yellowgingham that's reassuring to read.

@vivariumvivariumsvivaria I know, and I could have had the ELCS but after the discussion I decided against it. However this was roughly two weeks ago, before the incontinence ramped up which is typical!! But I don't really want a section, but I'm also worried about incontinence, can't win really and dunno what to do for the best. Although I've been warned by the obstetrician as I've now turned down being booked in for the ELCS it may mean it's no longer an option if I did change my mind purely because the calendar may be totally booked up, she did say I could ask for referral again if I do change my mind but they can't guarantee they could accommodate the request as they may be fully booked up. But as I say I don't really want one anyway find the prospect scary too eurgh. I've been using the squeezy app for a few years. I don't think it's worth speaking to the GP I'm certain they will ping me back to the midwife and realistically I would need to wait to see how my post-partum recovery goes before anyone would refer me.
