Breast cancer?

I had a lumpectomy in May to remove a benign but with potential to turn cancerous lump.
Under the scar in the exact same place I can feel the lump is back. But this time unlike before I have a really bad feeling about it.
Could it go from being ADH to cancer that quickly?
I've seen my GP who has referred me back to breast clinic but the wait and the worrying is killing me. Sad

Hi, did not want to read and run, I know how you feel (have had both outcomes). I think there is a reasonable chance that you have scar tissue from the lumpectomy and this may be what you can feel now. I know it is easy to say try not to worry until you have got it checked, it is an agonising wait, but you are doing the right thing getting referred back x

I would imagine even if the lump is cancerous it will not be very advanced due to the short amount of time since your lumpectomy. I have recently had treatment for breast cancer. Mine was dealt with very swiftly and effectively. The waiting is the worst, once you know what you're dealing with you can focus on the treatment plan. I really hope yours turns out to be another benign lump. Good luck, I wish you all the best.

Thank you. What's worrying me is the lump feels exactly the same as before so I don't think it is scar tissue. But the last lump was there ages before I got it checked and didn't get any bigger at all. This one in just a few months is back to the size it was so it just feels like a more aggressive thing.

Just got an appointment through for the 29th. The next two weeks are going to crawl by. I feel devastated for my kids. It's weird. I feel like I know this is going to be bad. Before I knew the lump would be fine and I was right. So this has thrown me even more.

I had a bad feeling about mine from the very beginning. My first appt at the breast clinic involved a mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy. The doctor told me straight away that although he couldn’t confirm it until the biopsy result came back it did look suspicious and he was expecting it to be cancerous. He was also able to tell me there was no node involvement. This gave me time until the confirmed result came through to prepare myself for the news. Everything I was told that day was correct and then I was very quickly treated. As I said before, the waiting is the worst bit, please try not to think the worst. Breast cancer is one of the most successful cancers to treat. Best wishes to you and good luck for the 29th.
