Hi ladies,
I've been looking at purchasing a pelvic floor trainer recently, they are a little costly so just wanted to get anyone's feedback on them please?
Any particular models work well for yourselves?
Thank you 😊

No advice, but following with interest. Discovered how weak my pelvic floor is when exercising recently!

TheHomeEdit · 29/08/2021 23:48

I have a perifit which when used diligently proved effective. I need to organise my life to find a sensible time to use it again. In lockdown 1 I used it daily.

@TheHomeEdit thank you, have you found it has helped?

Yes. It definitely helped but you do need to keep going. I was very diligent and then stopped. But bit like any other exercises I guess.

Kegel 8 was fab for me

I have a sensatone and for me it has been excellent. I had no pelvic floor post baby but since using have seen massive difference in a couple of months. I have used it religiously

Place marking!

drumandthebass · 31/08/2021 12:24

Oh my god, I think I need an early night! I read the title and immediately thought of trainers as in training shoes 🤣

tobeornottobe1 · 31/08/2021 15:05

@drumandthebass haha if I was to start running with my pelvic floors I'll be posting for incontinence pad recommendations too Blush

The neen educator isn’t too expensive and came recommended to me by a women’s health physio if you’re looking for something to assist you doing exercises correctly rather than something that stimulates the muscles for you.

I’m following too. I’ve cried at how useless my pelvic floor is before now.

OctaviaTriangle · 31/08/2021 21:54

My understanding is that these devices can do more harm than good unless they've actually been recommended for you so I'd exercise some caution (as well as potentially your pelvic floor!)

GoodnightGrandma · 31/08/2021 21:56

I’ve been seeing a women’s physio and she hasn’t recommended any of these. She just keeps saying to do the exercises, 3 lots of 10 with one standing up, every day.

Tickly · 31/08/2021 21:59

Not tried a machine. Worth seeing a women's health physio to check you're doing the exercises right (lots of people are pushing instead of pulling up from their bum!). Also have a look for a course called Holistic Core restore. I think it was really excellent.

sunonyourback · 31/08/2021 22:06

Would definitely recommend a women's health physio. Mine was excellent and sorted me out totally over a period of a few months with simple exercises. NHS Squeezy app is good and reminds you to keep practising frequently.

tobeornottobe1 · 01/09/2021 05:12

@OctaviaTriangle I see thank you. Perhaps I should see a physio first to assess the extend of my 'deficit' and see what they recommend and then take it from there.

NHS.

SBAM · 01/09/2021 14:47

I saw one through the nhs, just asked my GP for a referral to the women’s health physio

tobeornottobe1 · 01/09/2021 15:31

Thanks ladies. I will give the GP a call, I'll see what the waiting time is like and if I can budget to see a private one I will.
