Breast Dimpling

I have noticed the following breast dimpling in my left breast. I was scanned to check out a lump with an ultrasound last year and had a mammogram as they could not see the tissue clearly. I was told I had thickening breast tissue but nothing of worry could be seen. However I’ve now noticed the dimpling. I don’t want to waste any time but equally how often should you push to be seen again? Can anyone advise? Am I being unreasonable to request being seen again?!

IME gps are very risk averse when it comes to breast changes and you won’t have to push much for a new referral. If it’s on your mind get it checked. You’ll likely be seen in 2 weeks.

BrilliantBetty · 22/08/2021 22:08

Hopefully it is fine and just from slight sagging or something but anything can happen/ change in a year and breast dimpling is one of the 'signs' to look out for and be checked over with. Definitely book an appointment, they will not think you are wasting time.

EastWestWhosBest · 22/08/2021 22:09

Go to the GP as soon as you can. With luck it will be nothing but it’s not worth the risk.

Viviennemary · 22/08/2021 22:09

I would get it checked again. Don't just leave it.

kazza446 · 22/08/2021 22:10

Please get this checked out ASAP. Ring your GP tomorrow. Stand firm and tell them you need it assessing,

justasking111 · 22/08/2021 22:11

Please get checked I was fast tracked within two weeks. They were very thorough at the hospital

TheCatInTheChat · 22/08/2021 22:12

Definitely back to the GP! Needs reassessing.

Etsylicious · 22/08/2021 22:14

Definitely get it checked for peace of mind.

I had a mammo in Nov 2020. Recently noticed dimpling similar to yours. Saw GP and was referred straightaway. It turned out to be a change in appearance due to age and weight gain.

Don’t mess around re changes to breasts, it’s awkward better to get checked x

Etsylicious · 22/08/2021 22:15

*always not awkward !

OldHouseDilemma · 22/08/2021 22:16

NHS pages list dimpling as being a sign to watch out for wrt breast cancer. Hopefully it isn't, but you must get it checked, just in case.

Yutes · 22/08/2021 22:16

I would definitely get checked again. You got checked last year and that is enough time for things in your breasts to change.

BG2015 · 23/08/2021 08:11

Another person telling you to get it checked out ASAP.

BookShop · 23/08/2021 15:17

Thank you all. I am seeing the Dr this week. Hopefully it is just a hormonal change and nothing serious.

Please make sure you get a referral on the two week pathway. I was a BC patient last year and the NHS were brilliant despite the pandemic. Glad you're getting that checked, any changes, however small, should be ALWAYS! Good luck Thanks

justasking111 · 30/08/2021 22:27

@BookShop

Did you see the GP?

Nicoldi · 03/04/2022 13:21

Hy notice this on my breast, would you say it's dimpling or just a stretch mark? I'm very confused 😕 my GP says it's a stretch mark....got an appointment for scan but had one in January as well and it was nothing there😕 @

Healthfreak95 · 29/09/2023 13:11

@BookShop how did this turn out OP? Currently dealing with the same x
