Endometriosis on bowel?

Hi, I’m currently waiting for my 2nd gynae appointment to discus surgery for heavy painful periods, I’m pretty sure I have endo but have not been diagnosed because it’s hard to find it on a scan and hyseroscopy (have had both). The past week the pain has got worse and it is effecting my bowels, it’s hard to describe but it’s feels very similar to a UTI it in my bowels (needing to go, not feeling ing empty, worse in the morning and evening). My gp has given me 2 lots of pain killers including tramadol which eases the pain during the day but the mornings are just awful, glued to the loo in agony. Is it possible that I have endometriosis on my bowel? Or is my symptoms causing some kind of IBS/Colitis?

I spoke to my gp yesterday but was told I just need to wait for my gynaecologist appointment and then hopefully have surgery, surgery that probably won’t even help with these symptoms.

Anyone else experienced similar?

I have totally had enough now with being unwell, this has been ongoing for a year and it’s now effecting my work and home life .

I have endo Op. It took 7 years of appointments before surgery confirming diagnosis.

I have it on my bowel as well as numerous other places. My bowel symptoms are pain before going to the loo low down abdominal pain for a few intense minutes, then gone. The coil sorted the problem, pain 95% gone.

Yep I have a spot of endo near the bowel. It was picked up on ultrasound. Symptoms are that the pain when I’m on period and bloated is so intense that I sweat and feel like I’ll pass out.

Yes, it could be endo on the bowel. If you haven't already, you should stop your periods with the pill used continuously (no break between packs) or the Mirena coil. This will drastically reduce your symptoms if it is endo. You also do need to see gynae as they can use powerful hormones to stop all bleeding and they can do surgery. Surgery isn't just removing the endo, they can also separate adhesions between organs which are 'stuck together' with scar tissue. Good luck with your diagnosis and treatment.

I spent yesterday in A&e 😭, didn’t really get anywhere with it, been told to stop takin one of my meds as it could be causing the bowel issues. I a, waiting for Endometrial ablation surgery, I was given the choice of trying the coil or surgery, because I have struggled with all hormone contraceptives I opted for the surgery and a, going to see if I can be sterilised at the same time (because I don’t want to have to go on the pill). At the moment I am taking the pill in attempt to stop bleeding before I have surgery but is till bleed on the pill and get awful migraines so I can’t stay on it long term. I am now so unwell I can’t work, have now been given tramadol for the pain which makes me feel like a zombie (the hospital told me my body will get used to it).
