Pain after c section

I'm really struggling with this a month after having my baby, for example feeding my baby is still really sore due to pressure on my tummy (breastfeeding) and generally moving around really hurts. I have older DC too so it's hard to rest but I am doing my best.

I'm taking paracetamol and ibuprofen regularly, weaned myself off the codeine a week ago as I don't want to take it long term. Have asked the doctor to call today to discuss pain again, just interested to hear others' experiences.

I have been to the gynae clinic at hospital and been treated for womb infection (antibiotics) since baby was born but they seem to think the infection has gone now. Last (male) consultant I saw there basically implied I was going to hospital to escape my children and I should get on with it! I was so cross as it is very stressful not being able to take 3 week old breastfed baby then being made to wait several hours but that is another thread.

So how much pain did you have at this stage is what I am asking!

I had pain for around 10 weeks after my first section, I found it was caused mostly by my posture during feeding, I figured out if the baby was propped up as much as possible I was sat straight upright pillows everywhere! Legs out straight and as soon as feeding was finished standing up and slowly stretching out my pain would be considerably less with each passing day, second csection I put this into practice day 1 instead of week 7 and by day 10 I had virtually no pain left, I think it's muscle relaxation and them being loosened up since pregnancy and the combined meds in our systems that leave the lingering pain in my experience anyway.
Posture, rest, water were the 3 most important things that got me through, good luck.

@heartcurrent1 thank you I do try to prop DC with pillows but will make sure I am more upright, good tip!

Bump for any other views! On the plus side I have more drugs from GP now.

I took turmeric -1/2 teaspoon mixed in warm milk at night and all the pain was gone. I never took painkillers because after turmeric I didn't need any. Also the nurse told me not to sit up straight if I am lying on my back but to turn on my side first before getting up the bed.

@Literallyfedup one dose of turmeric? Really? Hmm

Sorry forgot to mention, it was for 2 nights. Yes, it did work. It was not in capsule form but the powder form available in Asian grocery stores.

I was in pain for ages op. My muscle separation was really bad and everything felt very tender. I was fitted for recovery shorts by a physio. They were what got me through and able to move without feeling like my insides would fall out. Have you been given these?

@iworkwithonehammer thanks for your reply, no I haven't spoken to any physio yet but will ask about this and magic shorts!
