What am I doing wrong?

I feel like a clueless teenager writing this!

I've always had long (approx 10d) periods, of which 6-7 days will be extremely heavy. I went years without any whilst on contraception but since having another implant after DC, they have been randomly sporadic - once every 3-6 months maybe. I don't really keep track. Definitely nowhere near monthly though.

I've never particularly got on with tampons, although do have to use them due to flooding. Pads are nowhere near sufficie t. I've tried a mooncup, didn't get on with that either, kept having spectacular leaks. I always feel like I can't get them in far enough, and if I do it never lasts long before they feel like they're working their way back out again. It's always been this way, even since a teenager, pre DC, over weight, healthy weight. I've tried all sorts of brands, applicator, non applicator. When I've had a delve around (not that I make a habit!) it always feels like my cervix is quite low. It's always easily findable. What am I doing wrong?

Any recommendations as to brands or alternative products? Help Confused

I'd perhaps try a different version of mooncup? There's lots of different brands and they are all a bit different!

Have you mentioned this to the GP? If you get a good one they may investigate other causes for the heavy periods like fibroids etc. I had an ultrasound to rule it out.

I've had scans in the past (probably 3-4 years ago maybe), both pelvic ultrasound for this and pelvic ultrasound for kidney/bladder stones, plus lots throughout pregnancy including very early on with ovaries and everything checked, so I'm pretty sure as much as I can be that everything is ok in that department. Also up to date with smears (all clear) and never been told there's anything weird going on up there! I do have a rectocele post birth which I've done as much physio as I can do for, the only real option later on is to have that surgically repaired, but this was going on long before I was destroyed downstairs by childbirth!

I was thinking of going back to the GP though, I was going to have another coil fitted as I had months of low level bleeding whilst my implant settled down, but I have to be done as an inpatient at the hospital because of an unrelated condition. I was on the waiting list and then covid hit and I've been shielding ever since so I cancelled it, mainly due to covid but also because the bleeding had stopped again.

Fortunately have a very good GP who has a special interest in women's health.

I haven't, I think I was a bit put off by the mooncup because it just seemed like I could never get it up far enough and couldn't maintain a good seal properly
