Ughhhhhhhhhhhh - please help Sad

Am at wits end... have tried using anusol for ages. I had a baby three years ago.. (!!!!!) why do I still have them.?! And that was with a c section! Basically they never went and have got worse.
I never feel like I empty my bowels completely and they are so sore.

Tips? Do I need to see the doctor?
Last night I was in tears they were that sore!

Do you use the suppositories?
If its that bad then I'd contact your GP

Randomrebel · 18/01/2021 20:50

As an interim measure before seeing the GP try warm baths rather than showers.

Don’t wipe too hard with loo roll and maybe using Anusol wipes after a bowel movement?

Or try the cream below (it doesn’t sting as much as Anusol Cream) and or Petroleum Jelly/Vaseline.

Never tried suppositories. I can see one pile is on the outside does that mean more are in? Ugh sorry tmi.

Thanks for the suggestion of the cream will try that and I have been using baby wipes instead of loo roll.

I'd try suppositories plus cream.

Randomrebel · 18/01/2021 21:08

Loads of cream, soaking in the bath, GP would only refer you to the hospital if very bad. Try these first.

Our hospital have stopped outpatient appointments at the moment due to covid.

You do need to see the dr, three years of this and feeling like you never empty your bowels properly should be checked out. You may have a prolapse of some kind.
Please don’t be embarrassed Drs are used to dealing with all parts of the body and will have forgotten your bum 10 minutes after you leave.
While you wait for an appointment anusol suppositories are brilliant also make sure you drink loads and avoid constipation.

Ask your GP for a prescription for xyloproct. (Cream). WAY better than over the counter stuff Life changing. Couple of days and all gone!

Hi sorry to jump in. I have two babies the most recent I had 15 months ago also by c section. Since then I have piles bad at least once a month. I have it at the moment and it's so itchy. I had a look and can see it sorry tmi. What can I
Do to get rid of them for good or is it something I have to live with 😳

Following as I'm suffering too. Had a small pile after giving birth 18m ago. Have had anal fissures too the whole time and it's just agony. Iv had GTN ointment for the fissures but it never truly solved it and I feel like the piles are getting worse. To make it even worse Iv just had vaginal episiotomy refashioning so I just feel like having my daughter has broken me down below. She was only 5lb too 😭

As well as all the good advice above, avoid straining on the toilet. That pushes up the pressure in the veins and makes the piles bulge and engorge. Eat plenty of veg and whole fibre or use a faecal softener. If you do become badly constipated, use a disposable glove and manually empty your rectum by gently inserting a finger and manipulating the stool out, rather than straining.
And do contact your GP. If your piles are bad enough to need a haemorrhoidectomy, the sooner you get onto the backlogged waiting list, the better.
