As a brief contraceptive history, I was on microgynon from teens to mid-20s (which I used to run together a lot to avoid bleeding,) then had a mirena coil for 5 years which I rarely bled at all with, then went back onto Rigevidon, which again, I used to run together a lot. I stopped taking contraception completely in July 2020.
Since then, I have “regular” monthly bleeding and cramps - but the bleeding is almost spotting. It is really light - I would only require a pantyliner if anything at all. Typically the pad is bare or with a very small stain, and most of the “bleed” I see when I wipe on using the loo. This lasts 2 days max.
I haven’t had a regular, “natural” period since my early teens (due to contraception,) but remember these with blood soaked pads and lasting days on end.
Essentially, I’m 33, and have no idea if this is what a normal period looks like for a woman my age.
I have no children, but we are currently trying to conceive, and I’m not sure if this is something I should be speaking to a doctor about sooner rather than later, or if this is typical and I’m being ridiculous expecting my periods to be as they were in my teens.
