Never ending period

Background first:
I've been having really heavy awful periods for over 4 now
, I'm in my early 50's but still regular. I'm sure I'm being dismissed as being old enough to be menopausal soon.
I decided not to take any hormonal medication in my 30's as they all trigger my migraines( which are also triggered by my periods). So I'm very reluctant to try mirena. So for over 3yrs have taken tranexamic acid and naproxen monthly to control my symptoms of heavy bleeding, flooding and clots.
2019 began with polyp removal during an ultrasound where the also spotted a couple of small fibroids, then a d&c and another Flat polyp was discovered , this subsequently removed and finally I had endometrial ablation. I was hoping this would finally sort things out but heavy periods returned within a couple of weeks and I then told I had to give things time to settle.

Then COVID hit , so I've been waiting to see a consultant to discuss a hysterectomy, which the surgeon said in November last year after the endometrial ablation might be the best option.

Meanwhile things aren't going well , I'm still bleeding heavily for about 7 days when taking Tranexamic acid . I decided to try not taking the tranexamic acid this cycle to judge if it's actually helpful as I was beginning to think it was slowing the bleeding but prolonged my period which gets heavier again as soon as I stop taking it.

So I'm now on day 12 of bleeding, still bright red bleeding and clots , and cramping with no signs of it stopping, so what do I do now? Should I restart the tranexamic acid and naproxen today?

I would restart the Tranexamic acid, if only to give yourself some relief. And ring to chase up your gynae appointment!

It's worth a try.
