teenage DD and her hormones

I can set the clock by DD's mood swings which I believe are governed by her hormones.

For example, on about 3 days a month she is crying while begging me to help her get a better sleep routine, remember to cleanse her face each night etc, then we have about 7 days where she is delightful, funny, happy, engaging. Then we start the slippery slope where, eventually, I am ruining her life and I'm the worse mum in the world.

She is my eldest DD and I am too old to remember my own teenage years.

Are these normal hormone fluctuations?

Are there any supplements or anything that she could take to try and level things out a little for her?

I really feel for her Sad. I'd love to be able to help more.

TIA

My DD was same until we had her vitamin and iron levels checked. She had low ferritin which was affecting her moods as well as the hormones.
After supplementing with iron her moods have lifted tremendously. Can you ask her GP to check her b12, b9 and ferritin as anything could be affecting her moods.
I would not advise to take supplements on your own as if anything is low then she would need proper dosage.

Thanks for posting. I’ll look into that.
