Prolapse Surgery

Due to have surgery mid November and thinking I should have an epidural but my bf says no way I should have a general anaesthetic anybody out there had the surgery with an epidural??

I had the surgery with an epidural but they gave me sedation at the same time so I was asleep the whole time. Also the epidural lasts for a couple of hours after you wake up (if you have sedation) so you are in minimal pain. Also they give you an anesthetic injection so you don't feel the epidural going in. Good luck

Thanks for the info, think I will stick to the epidural, Got my pre op assessment tomorrow by telephone but think the op is going to be cancelled due to Covid ffs,

Hopping on to this thread as I was diagnosed with a bladder prolapse yesterday that's apparently quite big and been told to prepare for surgical intervention.

What happened with your surgery OP? Had it been cancelled?
