Don't want to waste doctors time

A couple of weeks ago I found a dimple in my right breast. Not big (and stupidly googled) it's not as big as some can be but I've noticed it. I'm now getting pain behind the nipple. I can't feel a lump but my tissue is quite lumpy anyway (if that makes sense)

I'm worried I'll be wasting the doctors time with this (especially how the world is right now) I'm very early 30s. I'm not even sure I have the strength to go to doctors at the moment as I'm exhausted!

Not sure why I'm posting but it's helped actually writing it down as I haven't said anything in rl as I don't want to worry people or them think I'm being mad.

Not sure what to do?

Go to the doctor.
Why would you think you are wasting their time???

BoysRule · 24/09/2020 19:24

You're definitely not wasting your doctor's time. Please make an appointment.

Porcupine83 · 24/09/2020 19:27

Definitely go to the doctor. That’s what they’re there for. They won’t make you feel like you’re wasting their time, if that’s what you’re worried about.

Someonesayroadtrip · 24/09/2020 19:28

Go to the doctors.

hardyloveit · 24/09/2020 19:28

I'm not sure why I feel that really. I don't want to waste time and money if nothing is wrong.
Il call them tomorrow and see what they say
Thank you

For the love of god, go to the GP.
I can’t even begin to understand why on Earth you wouldn’t go?
Exhausted? Too exhausted to go to the GP?
Make that appointment and go.

Pickypolly · 24/09/2020 19:30

I sound like a really bossy teacher there don’t I!!

filthyanimal · 24/09/2020 19:30

GO TO THE DOCTORS!!!!

hardyloveit · 24/09/2020 19:36

I will. I think I just needed another voice to say I'm not over reacting.

I found a lump during the height of lockdown in April. Wasnt going to go to docs, we were in the middle of a global pandemic and im 47 for gods sake, of course im going to have lumpy boobs !!
DH went nuts and said he wouldnt stop bugging me till i phoned GP- so just to shut him up i phoned them. GP called me in same day. The following week i was in the breast clinic where i was diagnosed with grade 3 cancer.
Your GP wants to see you. The NHS wants to see you. You are not wasting anyones time. Best of luck, let us know how you get on.

KEG05 · 24/09/2020 19:45

Please make that appointment and get it checked. You are most definitely not wasting anyone’s time. X

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 24/09/2020 19:55

They would rather see 100 women whose lump/dimple/pain is nothing serious than miss one who is serious. FGS make an appointment, that’s what they’re there for.

FWIW I found a lump at the start of lockdown and worried that I wouldn’t get an appointment. Was seen at the breast clinic within 10 days, mammogram, all clear while I waited. It was eerily quiet at the hospital, lots of staff sitting around chatting with no patients. Very odd, and such a waste that routine scans would have been cancelled and cancers potentially missed when they could have been done safely and quickly.

I was even allowed to take DP with me, which surprised me.

Please call your GP tomorrow and get it checked. Chances are it’s nothing but just in case, time is of the essence. Flowers

Parkandride · 24/09/2020 19:57

Oh God go, please! This isn't indigestion or your ears wanting syringing. You might get a phone consultation first anyway which isn't so tough to attend if you're tired, but I guarantee they will take it seriously. Even though you are probably fine you need to check. Good luck

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 24/09/2020 19:58

@Redannie118 thank goodness your DH badgered you! Flowers. (((Hope you’re ok.)))

Starshapeddreams · 24/09/2020 20:02

OP I have worked in the red flag breast service - we want to see you! PLEASE contact your GP, we love nothing more than telling women there's nothing wrong.
You are not wasting time, services are still running and we'd rather see you now than in 6months time!
Hopefully it's nothing but always worth getting it checked out.

Incrediblytired · 24/09/2020 20:05

Go to the doctor. A dimple is a possible sign and you know it is. Go to the doctor.

hardyloveit · 25/09/2020 17:24

Thank you all.

@Redannie I hope you're okay!

I had a video call with them today as there was no appointments by the time I got through. I now have an appointment on Monday at 7:45 with a full blood test, I then slept the rest of the day!
I'm actually getting very worried now though as I've noticed my nipple has gone inwards.
Thank you all for your replies.

Sorry I know this thread is old now but little update. I've had a mammogram and an ultrasound. Was told at the breast clinic things were okay. Told at scans things were okay however they then sent me a letter to say two lumps have been found and I'm now booked in for a biopsy tomorrow. They said one of the lumps looks like a normal cyst but the other one does not.

BusterGonad · 10/11/2020 06:57

I'm sorry to hear your update, I'm wishing you luck. Thank goodness you got it checked out so quickly.

Gunpowder · 10/11/2020 07:01

Have got everything crossed for you OP. Good for you for getting it checked out.

Ironmanrocks · 12/12/2020 20:08

How have you got on? I really hope you are OK?

I know this is old but I have just found a lump - it's got bigger and so I am trawling threads trying to find any information on people's experiences....

I am calling the doctors on Monday...

What happened after your biopsy?xx

NourHazem · 12/12/2020 22:28

I had a polyp removed from my cervix a month ago & my period started three days ago. Day one was only a couple of drops, day two it was light till the end of the day and the flow was medium, today day 3, I am HEAVILY bleeding & heavily is an understatement. Is this normal ? Maybe because first two days were light flow wise ? & it had been a month since the surgery or is this a bad sign ?

Ironmanrocks · 13/12/2020 08:22

No idea about that sorry. Check it with Google - might depend on your age? I always have one super heavy day now all the rest light. Good luck.

jlyndsey · 13/12/2020 22:43

Go to the doctors. Better to get checked. Probably nothing but at least will put your mind at rest, your not wasting their time that's what they are there for
