Bartholin cysts?

Has anybody suffered from Bartholin cysts?

I have since the birth of my son 7 years ago!!!! It started off small and not sore at all then a few years ago it became a cyst and it was so uncomfortable I had to get it drained and a drain inserted. I’ve had this done on three occasions over the years.

It’s a pain in the arse I mean fanny lol and the gynaecologist have said there’s nothing they can do to prevent. It appears that once a woman has one once it’s highly likely it will reoccur.

Honestly is women don’t half put up with shit. It’s been over a year since my last drainage lol and I still get tender on one side before periods. Anybody else suffered from this!? I yet to chat to a fellow sufferer 🙈😳🤢😂

Fellow sufferer here!! I too know of nobody else to have had one!
Mine also appeared after child birth small like yours. I was told for years it was scar tissue from child birth. Mine is now 6cm and has bad flare ups where it is very uncomfortable. Ive now been told that it is actually the bartholins cyst and am waiting on my first appointment at the gynocologists. What actually happens then? When you say, drain inserted? Do they leave it in? Im quite nervous now! Glad to hear im not alone with my extra lump! Thankyou for posting OP.

Aww glad to hear from you lol.

I’ve been in so many times I’m use to it now. Generally what happens here in Scotland is you go to your gp who refers you to the gynaecologist. I find that they only do this once the cyst is very sore and enlarged otherwise they will send you away.

I go and they inject the area so it’s numb and put a cut in it to drain it 🙈 sorry tmi. It’s instant relief. They then insert a small rubber catheter which you don’t feel and leave it there to drain. Honest it’s quick and initially it takes time to get use to it but only shower and don’t have sex. It should fall out on its own but the longer it’s there the better in my Experiance. It’s honestly nothing to worry about you don’t feel it and you are in and out. My gynaecologist won’t opt for the marsipilisation if that’s what it’s called lol as both are equally as successful and the word catheter it’s a minor procedure.

I’ve only got this when it’s got extreme and I mean can’t do anything. Us women go through it all!! 🙈

But I too thought I had a prolapse due to child birth but nope 👎🙈
