Anyone had mirena with no side effects?

This may seem odd but I'm slightly returned by the reaction my body has had from mirena.

Had heavy periods over the years and tried tranxamic acid etc which didn't work.

Hoped it would sort itself but didn't so started mini pill in December.

This seemed to increase frequency and also length of period but they were lighter on the whole.

June I had constant spotting, pain, bloating and period. Started again 1st of July and carried on just getting heavier and heavier.

Given northisterone which stopped it after 24 hours but still had bloating and pain and odd spotting.

24 hours after it stopped horrendous pain again and flooding. Started northisterone again after 3 days but it didn't stop it but lightened it over 4 days.

Had coil fitted yesterday. Day 5 of northisterone.

Have to say that was awful. Pain so bad I actually passed out Blush

Was warned about all sorts including continuous spotting for months etc and given more northisterone in case I ever need it.

Part from some dull aches yesterday which paracetamol calmed I didn't have any if the expected cramping.

I also didn't continue bleeding but did lose what I can only assume was very large chunks of womb lining. I also assume that it was what my body couldn't shed for the previous weeks. (Was like liver if that makes sense?!)

Slightly worried about expulsion which I was warned about with clots I checked it was still there this morning and all good.

But the odd thing is I have no cramping, no bleeding and not even any spotting. And after almost 2 months of continual bleeding and expecting more it's weirding me out!

So has anyone else had instant relief with a coil and none of the warned side effects?

I'm closing my ears to the idea of having it removed and replaced in 5 years.

Mine was great when I needed it, and I was advised not to bother having it out as I was menopausal by then. No one mentioned it for 20 years, then locum G.P. said it should come out. She gave me lots of information about what she would do if it was difficult but it came out very easily, the worst bit was the fear it might hurt, which it didn't.
