Does this sound like a rectocele?

Apologies for the TMI!!!!

Bulging vulva when I sit on the toilet
A bulge I can pinch, about an inch thick, it doesn’t stick or hang our of my vagina but ‘sits’ at the entrance most of the time but not always and can be bigger or smaller
Sometimes I have a full sensation.
For two years or so after the last child as born, I havd to insent my fingers into my vagina to help me poo, if that makes sense 🙈 either to provide ‘stability’ or push it out from the inside 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈
Pelvic floor exercises made zero difference.
Bladder fine, some stress incontinence.
This has been going on for about 9 years. I can never be constipated.
Now pregnant again and really worried about my pelvic floor, I am considering requesting a section.
Really dismissive GP, I always thought I would have it sorted privately at some point.
I am 40+ this time around and other babies has been > 9lbs, biggest >10.
Thanks and apologies again for the details

Yes, that does sound like a rectocele. Has your GP even examined you? Although tbh I'd get moving with asking for a gynae referral as well as telling any midwife, nurse or doctor that you see that's it's a significant issue.

Are you having consultant-led care?

Congratulations btw Flowers and sorry your GP hasn't been taking this seriously enough.

I agree, definitely sounds like a rectocele. You can ask to be referred to a gynaecologist. I had rectocele surgery five years ago, feel free to PM me if you have questions.

My GP was also pretty useless. I'd recommend seeing a pelvic health physio or getting referred to a gynae.

I'm also pregnant with a rectocele and my consultant said to me it's possible to have a pessary inserted if it helps. She also said I could elect to have a c section.

Thanks all. GP was very dismissive of two previous issues and really made me feel like I was wasting their time, in the end I had one sorted privately and still live with the other, probably for life but will be a bit outing to disclose.
Will discuss with the consultant. Currently really leaning towards a section. I just can’t face adding another birth injury to my collection!

Sorry what I meant was he was dismissive of other big things so I thought I would manage this on my own and have it fixed privately when I have lost that last two stone to give it the best chance if that makes sense!
