You can't take out insurance for a known condition, and expect a free operation. That's not how insurance works.

If you're having, for example, back problems because of large breasts you might be able to get a reduction on the NHS.

Or maybe wait until you get a job and pay for the operation yourself.

I do have a job thank you, I actually have 2 and a degree and 3 children one is registered disabled. I probably could get it on the nhs but as I've been paying for private insurance as my children spend alot of time in hospital so I would rather have this privately and saves the nhs paying for it i would still have my excess to pay and my policy would increase so ill be paying somethings towards it. I need to be in and out as soon as possible and this will not be achieved in an nhs hospital.

My experience with private healthcare is that you'll need a letter/referral from your GP stating that you need it due to back pain etc as long as they don't mention you needing it cosmetically you might be lucky and get it approved

OP There's no need to get snappy about someone mentioning waiting for you to get a job! You said you were a student in your OP, not that you had 2 jobs as well, so most people will presume you aren't working at the same time!

If you want it privately then you should pay the £6k like everybody else. It's not that common to get this surgery done on the NHS at the moment. There are a lot of hoops to jump through that make it quite difficult but it's worth having a word with your GP, who is probably the best person to advise you in this situation. It's highly unlikely you'd get a referral in the current pandemic though.

Privately I would get a referral, I work very hard and didn't actually ask if people agreed with it. I asked if anyone had gotten one. I thought this page would be helpful but maybe I was wrong. Loads have people have had this completed on insurance as I've looked after them. My Gp is currently as helpful as a chocolate fireguard again i am aware of the process but I was asking which insurances were accepting claims

As far c as I know, private health insurance doesn't cover cosmetic surgery.

But you say this isn't cosmetic surgery because you have v large breasts.

I think you'd have to claim and prove that the size of your breasts is causing you health issues such as a bad back in order to get the operation done under your insurance, and either an NHS or a private GP would have to diagnose this for you for the operation to be claimable on insurance. If the condition is diagnosed before you take out the insurance, it probably wouldn't be covered. Most policies don't cover pre-existing conditions.

You can't take out car insurance after you've had an accident and claim on the insurance for the cost of the repair. Medical insurance works the same way.

I appreciate you're probably paying tuition fees etc, but you could put your studies on hold and use the money saved to save and pay for the operation perhaps.

Thank you for your comments i havent been to gp as you said this would then be a pre-existing complaint so purposely not been. I have a bad back and areas of issues around were my bra sits including shoulder notches and the back where my straps go i have to see a chiropractor. I also get rashes and sores under my boobs and even in between them. I need to be in and out quickly to look after my children and I also have study and placement so need private. If I have to i will pay privately but I will but I would rather have the money for my children
