Minerva Coil. Put on weight. An alternative??

I've had the Minerva Coil for really heavy periods for 18 months now. It took 6-9 months to settle down, but my periods eventually stopped. However, I've put on a stone in weight. Looking back at my weight tracker, it's definitely linked to the coil. I've tried weight watchers, but I'm constantly hungry. I exercise - walking and gym, but obviously not enough to balance out the food I'm eating, and can't fit any more exercise into my life.

I'm considering having the coil removed. It's really affecting my self esteem. I've put on weight over the years as is normal but this is too much. It's not me

Is there anything else that will stop my periods or make them lighter? The pill will probably also make me put on weight

Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

I did too - about a stone a year on it. At the end of my five years now (much heavier although I have lost a couple of those stone through strict planning now) Now desperate to get the coil removed - I’m on a waiting list. It did help me by stopping terrible perimenpausal bleeding though. In retrospect, I’m not sure I would have had it.

Thank you for replying Fredafrogspawn

I'm really not sure what to do. My periods were awful before with 2-3 days a months of really heavy bleeding and cramping. I would be so scared I would leak at work. If it was lucky enough to fall at the weekend, I would stay in bed.

What eating plan did you follow to lose weight?
