Heavy lower abdomen. Needing to pass water all the time

Hi everyone, I’m just lookout for advice. I’ve been having the urge to wee even after I’ve been to the toilet. It’s like a heavy feeling in my lower abdomen. My GP asked for a urine sample which came back negative. I’ve had a smear which was all clear. No stinging or pain when I pass water and also urine is clear. I’m 47, is this just a symptom of peri menopause? I’ve read about intestinal cystitis could this be it?

I've had this on and off for many years due to endometriosis, but now I'm 45 and in the period menopause it's got loads worse !
I recently had an ultrasound but they said all looks normal ( hormone related I think )

I have this and it’s caused by endometriosis, I think it would be unusual to get to 47 and this be your first and only symptom though? It’s more likely to be due to hormones or some other cause imo.

If your lower abdomen is heavy it will put pressure on your bladder.

I find it worse being stuck indoors. If out and about everything seems normal!

Whatever you do, make sure you still drink plenty of water.

Fibroids?

Embracelife · 07/07/2020 16:08

Cam be menopause related and you could try ovestin cream. Ask gp.

Local oestrogen therapy worked for me after 6 months of tests scans etc

if you asked gp for a trial you would know within 3 weeks if this was working or not.

I had similar sensations caused by fibroids (growths in the womb).

Thank you everyone for your advice. I’m going to see how it goes and then get it investigated.
Take care folks
