Hysterectomy - postponed surgeries

Hello,
I am currently waiting for a hysterectomy for Adenomyosis.

I know elective surgeries got postponed, does anyone know if they’ve been restarted or when they might be ? Also I read that anyone going for elective surgery will have to isolate with their household for two weeks before the operation, I understand why but it’s concerning me, I’m not sure my other half will be allowed to take the time off for it? He was hoping to use the holiday days he has to look after me when I’m recovering as we have children that need to be taken to school/kept alive etc 😅 Does anyone have any news on this or any advice or informations.

And is there anyone else also on here that’s waiting ?
Are you anxious about having an operation if they’ve restarted with everything going on with the pandemic?

Lots of questions I know sorry!
Thankyou for reading

Hi, I had my postponed hysterectomy yesterday. I think I'm one of the first to be listed after the hiatus.

I had just over two weeks' notice and was told to shield for the two weeks before. I attended hospital two days before for a swab test for COVID-19. They advised that they would have the results the next day and would phone to postpone if I were positive. I wasn't.

They advised me to isolate after the swab test - no sharing space with husband but when I said that he wasn't working, shopping or socialising they said that was OK.

I had my temperature taken on admission and had to wear a surgical mask until the operation.

Everyone is wearing masks, gowns, gloves. I feel perfectly safe.

I will have to shield when I go home (hopefully later today) for an unspecified time (until I feel OK).

I feel so grateful to all the amazing people who have been involved in my surgery and my care.

Good luck with your surgery.

Thank you.

I came home the day after surgery. I'm a bit tired but feel surprisingly good. There's the odd twinge but no continuous pain, and I'm able to walk around slowly.

So glad it's done! Fingers crossed for you.

The isolation thing is stupid just tick a box to say you've done it they won't know
