Hi this is difficult to type but wonder if anyone has any insight into what is wrong with me.

I have the sensation that I need to pass urine all the time, I have a dragging/cramping feeling low down in my abdomen and my vagina is sore, it almost feels like it is rubbing together!

Sex is painful and definitely makes things feel worse, I have been to see the GP today who has ruled out a urine infection and any kind of pelvic prolaspe.

When she was doing the speculum examination it was fine when she started i.e the speculum went in fine (sorry TMI) but once the speculum had been in a few seconds it was like my vagina was involuntarily push the speculum out. Since this internal examination my symptoms have been much worse today.

The GP didn't really seem to have much insight to what the problem might be, she has taken swaps to check for infection, but I am so uncomfortable this evening. Has anyone ever suffered similar symptoms and what was you diagnosis?

I’m in agony in that area as well. No idea wish I could help. I couldn’t contemplate sex with this though😥

How old are you? Could it be vaginal atrophy in peri menopause?

hello! I'm so sorry you're suffering, this sounds very stressful. I'm sorry to break this to you but bloody doctors have such a gap in the medical training and know so little or nothing about vulvodynia but it is a recognised and REAL condition. Please google it and you will find million of resources. You might have vaginismus as well. There's lots of good forums on patient info forums under women's health pelvic conditions. Please don't give up and don't let it get you down, it can be treated - if you have the resources please find a pelvic floor physiotherapist in your area. It's very often a dysfunction of pelvic floor muscles which can be worked on (exercise). If you're on instagram find JillKrampfmd she's a wonderful person to follow. I've been battling my pain for 6 months and been on pain management and i'm feeling 90% better. There's a light at the end of tunnel I promise :) sending you a big hug!

If you're in a constant pain ask your doctor if they would consider prescribing nerve pain medication (i'm on amitryptyline). It is a very different painkiller to paracetamol, it takes a long time to kick in but the sweet relief is amazing. I started a thread months ago it's called burning vulva only when walking- if you search it on here you can read what i've been through and there's a lot of good advice and imput from many women. Have a read and maybe you will feel less alone! it helped me so much and I feel empowered and happier now but oh god I felt so depressed....

I’m so sorry, that sounds awful. Just throwing adenomyosis (similar to endometriosis) out there as a possibility.
