Light green discharge

For years I've been having light green discharge. Thought nothing of it, but I've been told by the internet (🙄) it's not normal at all! It is accompanied by no smell at all, its normal texture for discharge. There are no other symptoms to suggest infections or STD's and my partner isnt displaying any symptoms for STD's. It's not a strong green colour, just a very light one. Is this something I should be worried about? Should I go to the gp?

I had this after i gave birth. I had antibiotics, an internal.ultrasound and still no clue so i will be watching this with interest. It eventually went away on its own..after about 9 months!

Similar situation here. I've had tests too, nothing picked up. Had it since for 3 years now.

I'm a bit concerned because everywhere says it's not normal, so I've booked a call with the GP.

I only started having it after I gave birth to my only child. I'm not sure how long afterwards, but I definitely didnt have it before I fell pregnant with her/during my pregnancy with her.

Bushbb had you given birth?

bushhbb · 14/05/2020 22:05

Yep, I had it since being pregnant. Nurse said it's normal during pregnancy but I'm obviously not pregnant anymoreConfused

So strange, none of the books warn you about it!

sunnydays80 · 03/04/2021 10:44

Hey ,
I just posted about a similar thing. Like you , have had it for yonks . Maybe forever , or it changed during pregnancy and stayed the same and I thought nothing of it .
But I was reading a article about women's health , and stated normal discharge is always white / clear .
If not they made out you're riddled 😂.
But I've had infection tests years ago and all clear and nothing in my life has changed to have given me a infection . But when you read that your not normal ! Makes you feel like maybe something is amiss .
@Dknew did you ever find anything out ?

ClaireJDOJ · 26/06/2021 05:42

Hi, I know this is an older post but did anyone get anywhere with it? I have had it since I gave birth 16 months ago! All tests are clear and I have no other symptoms, it’s so weird?!!

summerdays37 · 28/06/2021 10:04

Hi ,

I went for some tests too ! Even though I kinda knew they would be clear as I had clear tests years ago .
I personally think the internet spreads lots of nonsense. And it's only in certain light that mine looks ever so slightly light green . It doesn't smell and I have no irritation, tests clear . I've had it for so long now , maybe even longer ! Prob just took notice of it when I read something worrying on the INTERNET .

summerdays37 · 28/06/2021 10:04

@ClaireJDOJ what are your symptoms exactly ?

sunsout565 · 08/01/2023 15:22

I know this is a old thread, but did anyone come to any conclusions about the discharge? I'm having the same, always thought it was normal. No smell, itch. Just slight yellow, green hue occasionally. It's not excessive either. Anyone?

PeppyMintOtter · 07/02/2024 05:25

Anyone else here? I have the same - greenish discharge, started happening after I gave birth my first baby, all tests have come back clear.

Stevienickssleeves · 07/02/2024 16:09

I had this when my now teen daughter was born. I did a course of antibiotics, and internal examination and then an internal ultrasound to check in case of retained placenta. Nothing was found. No-one was ever able to tell me what was going on and c it eventually just went away on its own.

Stevienickssleeves · 07/02/2024 16:10

Just realised I've already commented on this. If medical science ever explains it I'm fascinated to know what's going on
