Those with PMDD, how did pregnancy affect it?

If you have PMDD I'd really like to hear your experiences of pregnancy and whether you had many PMDD symptoms during it or they disappeared completely?

Also after giving birth and your periods returned did the PMDD also return? If so was it better or worse?

I have PMDD so would like to know before TTC.

Hi,

I haven't had an official diagnosis however I'm sure PMDD is what I have.

I've always felt my best physically and mentally while being pregnant. After birth I was in a great mental place with my 2nd and 3rd child however with my first I did have postnatal depression - I don't think that was PMDD related as I was in a horrible situation at the time so think it was more that.

After my cycles regulated after birth it came back some months are worse than others but my babies keep me going.

Hope that helps a little, And all the best with TTC

Thanks for your reply. That is good to hear you felt good during pregnancy. I was worried it may be a constant PMDD episode!

I don't have an official diagnosis either but also know I have it. GP was useless when I went to them so don't bother with a diagnosis, I don't need them to tell me what I feel each month :) I found it's really come on since turning 30, I don't know if you found the same?

Honestly I felt so good and after birth was in a happy bubble!

I'm 26 and I can't remember when it all started happening however I was diagnosed with an auto immune disorder which I think my hormones are the main cause!

I know the feeling, feel brushed off as its "part of being a woman" which is ridiculous because I don't know many people that feel suicidal every two weeks because of their period. Sometimes it makes me feel like I'm two or even three different people in a month it's exhausting isn't it.
