I have extremely painful piles, the point it hurts to walk or sit down. Sad
I’ve been avoiding going to the doctors as I’ve been trying home treatments which haven’t done anything to help improve them. Will they need to do an examination if I see my GP? Just so I know if I need to request a lady doctor please. Dreading going and having to show a man doctor my poorly bum. Blush🙈
Any one have any home remedies that could help in the mean time please? It’s agony 😭. (I know I was silly for leaving it so long! Trust me I regret it now.)

Witchazel on a cotton pad held on at regular intervals (I lie in bed holding the pad to my butt - so elegant) cured mine. Not just relieved, actually cured. Obviously your mileage may vary, but it's such a cheap simple cure I would try it first. If they're internal I don't know how you'd apply it, but worth a shot.

Make an appointment to see a female doctor. She'll be able to give you things to sooth and reduce inflammation. She'll also be able to advise the next steps if any are required.

They do this day in day out so don't put it off. You'll be fine.

Anusol suppositories, there's one that have a mild steroid I think. Not sure if you can get them where you live though.
Definitely ask to see a female doctor if it makes you more comfortable! Feel better soon

Witch hazel on a cotton pad or sanitary towel, wrap it in a plastic bag a chill, then use to soothe your discomfort and help with swelling. Absolute godsend when I was pregnant and did the trick

Go to the doctor, they may be at a point where they won't get better on their own. I've seen numerous doctors, mostly male, none have even raised an eyebrow. I'm sure they see much more interesting things. They may want to do a brief examination, you can have a chaperone or take one with you, but it's just a bum, we all have one. I had surgery on mine and glad to say I rarely have problems now. So I do sympathise as they can be so painful

There was a thread a few days ago where the op, having tried lots of prescribed treatments, now swore by talc as it dries them out apparently

Please go and see a doctor. My mum suffered for so long and tried all sorts of things, one visit to a consulant specialist and it was cured. My dad had surgery for his (halo which didn’t work and then the next one). They are so so common and no laughing matter. I bet you won’t even be the first person with piles the doctor sees that day. I know it’s a hard location but if you really can’t face being examined can you take a picture (crop it if it helps)
