This started with a subtle vulva burning, it kind of came and went, went to the gp who did a swan which showed nothing. Since then the burning is now at the entrance of my vagina, it feels awful!!! Hurts to walk, to sit.... I don’t know what to do!!! I do t have discharge or anything, could this still be thrush??? I’ve got an appt at the GUM clinic tomorrow morning but I’m on my period so don’t know if they will look?? I’m 38, got a 3 year old, surely I’m young for perimenopause aren’t I?!?

The burning at the entrance of the vagina is sore to touch too. It’s ruining my Christmas I feel so down about it. Any ideas???

Have you treated yourself for thrush, that would be my first port of call - cream and tablet along with acidophilus tablets. I never get classic itching only burning, enough to make me cry and redness. Remember you partner needs to treat himself too or hell pass it back to you.

Thank you Mrspellgrino, I will try the thrush treatment, I just assumes as there’s no discharge and itching it won’t be that but hey you have that too!!! Can a man take the pill for it too??

I’ve had recurring thrush. No discharge just burning

Deer1981 · 24/12/2019 13:45

Does it burn all over and the entrance?

I have had similar, red at the entrance, slight burning. We don't use condoms, but the doctor eventually worked out that ive managed to develop an allergy to DH's semen. I now get hives wherever it touches me, which makes things interesting, but I'm not about to have a shag with rubber gloves and full waterproofs on!

I get a pain like this every month in the few days leading up to my period. I’m wondering if it’s a hormonal issue maybe related to perimenopause as although I’m not in the menopause, I am approaching 50. I find that wearing tight jeans makes it worse, so I’m wearing joggers or skirts when it’s like this.

Pastaagain78 · 24/12/2019 14:43

No not all over. More at the entrance.

anxioussue · 24/12/2019 14:49

I have this nearly all the time, I assumed it's menopause but I've not seen the Gp. Vagisil makes no difference for me, hope it clears up for you soon op.

Have you changed washing powder or conditioner? I had a similar issue and I'm sure it was down to a different fabric conditioner. I stopped using it and it calmed down. Hope you find some relief

Northernsoullover · 24/12/2019 17:00

Sorry I didn't reply last night. It was more at the entrance than all over but its difficult to say because I was in so much pain. Try some ibuprofen if you are able to take it. Don't use any soap. Either aqueous cream or just plain water. I have no idea what triggered mine either. I hope the hydrocortisone works.

Deer1981 · 24/12/2019 17:06

Thanks all so so much. Nah i haven’t changed anything in terms of toilet paper or washing powder but I may try use minimal amounts for a while ( of the detergent) I sit on the floor quite a lot don’t know it that could irritate the nerves, who knows?!

Did you find out the cause of this?
