Keep this ask short as possible I am 24 (just to rule out any suggestion of pre menopause although I know it's not impossible) but for the last 2years I have had so many "period issues" between heavy long painful periods to missed periods so continued spotting. I've had hormone tests, ovarian cancer tests, smear tests, pelvic exams, numerous std and pregnancy tests, ultrasound scan everything has come back normal. I asked to be referred to gynaecology to which the doctor said before they do they advice me to change my copper coil to the marina (I've had the copper one in 4 years so it wasn't exactly pointing at that to be causing my issues) as apparently that's what the gynaecologist would most likely suggest.
Before the "swap" my periods were light (occasionally extremely heavy one) mostly brown no blood clots AT ALL lasting anywhere between 1.5 weeks to 2.5 weeks. And anywhere between 30-40 days between periods.
Since the change I have been bleeding brown blood every day for 4 weeks. Thought I'd put up with it as it takes time to get used to.
Just wiped and this weird thing (picture in comments) tissue? Clot? Came out me. Obviously this is really unusual for me. It is brown, dark red, light red and even some grey round the edges (the grey stumped me) I am waiting for some sort of intense pain to say something's wrong or my coil to fall out.
Has anyone had something like this?
DR Google suggests grey being a miscarriage 😰😰😰

I can't see a picture but it's likely a decidual cast.

chocolatespiders · 14/12/2019 00:01

As pp said looks like a decidual cast (google it). I had one and freaked too.

Avocuddles · 14/12/2019 00:09

Hi. I've miscarried twice and although the clot itself could be indicative of one, your pattern of bleeding makes it seem unlikely. If it was a miscarriage then you would almost certainly have a positive pregnancy test at the moment as the hormones tend to remain in your body for a while afterwards. If you want to rule it out then maybe take a test tomorrow, if it is negative then that will at least set your mind partially at ease though I would definitely go speak to your doctor and potentially request a gynaecological referral to investigate further if they don't have a clear answer. Hope you're ok, let us know how you get on.

I have things like that reasonably regularly when I have periods - it's just a little bit of uterine lining.

(Not a full decidual cast which is when the whole lining comes out in one go, that would be much worse - google images! It's quite gross).

wheresmymojo · 14/12/2019 00:15

The grey is just dead womb lining tissue...

You can see the same thing on this Reddit post

Thanks very much for your help ladies.
I'm probably overreacting massively but with my long list of woman's issues I'm so out of touch with my body so this was a bit of a shock.
I'm hoping it's just the mirina helping my body get back to normal.
I'll take a pregnancy test in the morning just to rule that out and give me piece of mind. Due my coil checkup in just over a week so will bring it up then and try push again for a gynaecologist referral
