Online Gynaecologist Service - How much?

Hi Mumsnet,

I'm looking to launch an online gynaecologist service where you will have a 15-minute chat with a licenced gynaecologist to ask questions about pregnancy, conception, fertility, PCOS, Endometriosis and Sexual Health etc.

Do you think there's need for such a service? If so, how much would you pay for the 15 minutes consultation?

Thank you! Smile

Dunno, what do you reckon?

changeforprivacy · 01/12/2019 02:36

Most of it is googleable so I wouldn't engage this at all. Sorry.

GrumpyHoonMain · 01/12/2019 02:40

No I wouldn’t pay for this. Online chat services are next to useless as you cannot diagnose anything reliably and will still need people to see a consultant in person. You are better off having a video call centred service that also allows women to book private appointments.

What would be the point, you’d still need to see somebody in person if you had an issue? For general info, you’d google it.

Expressedways · 01/12/2019 15:25

What you’ve described I wouldn’t use. I do use a gynae app to order the pill though- it’s free on my insurance (the US) but the service would cost $15 without.

Hello,

Yes, Video call would be the main feature. 15-minute video consultation

Can’t see point of this. Lots of info online, and pharmacy for the medication.

What about tests and stuff?

FilledSoda · 01/12/2019 17:46

I wouldn't pay for that .

HelloGabriel · 01/12/2019 17:56

Absolutely not. From someone with stage 4 endo and secondary infertility...it's apparent when I visit my consultant that he has to refer to my notes to gage my current status and history (and why shouldn't he? I'm not his only patient by a long stretch).

Why on earth would I waste my money on a stranger?

No offence, OP, but it would be for me.

HelloGabriel · 01/12/2019 17:57

Wouldn't be* Hmm

GrumpyHoonMain · 02/12/2019 01:03

Would you be allowed to have a video gaene service? I think that might be illegal in a lot of countries and women might not feel comfortable getting their bits out in front of a stranger when Push Doctor etc can already book face to face appointments when required.
