Possible prolapse

I'm 3 months pp, had a vaginal delivery with a 2nd degree tear. I've had some issues with being unable to empty my bowels fully and leaking stools which I've been referred to pelvic floor physio. I've been constipated the last few days and On straining to poo (big mistake I know) I felt something different in my vagina, and now there is something bright red visible at the entrance. It's a bit uncomfortable and I'm worried I've had a prolapse? I'm abroad on holiday currently so will go to my GP as soon as I get home. Does this sound like a prolapse? Can I have prolapsed by straining too much?

Don't panic . It does sound like you may have a slight prolapse but as you are so very early postpartum there is every chance it will get better . You should see your GP and a women's health physio ( your GP may refer you ) . If you are in London then pm me , I know an excellent physio .

Thanks @minniethemooch I think more immediately pp I could see the tissue, but assumed it was part of the healing process, so hoping it'll be treatable with physio etc, just feels horrible. It's only my first baby and I'm 28! I thought prolapses didn't happen until women were generally older and had more children.
I had a very quick labour so think that can't have helped.

Hello

I too had a quick labour, 2 hours and a second degree tear.

I agree with you people don’t tell you the side effects of giving birth. You can get muscle damage and prolapses at any age unfortunately.

Just wait to see your doctor when you get home.

Good luck
