Pelvic floor exerciser - anyone used one - I need drastic measures

OK so since birth of son nearly 15 years ago, I've had problems. Have been to incontinence clinic, tried hormone cream, tried my pelvic floor exercises which I'm now doing in real earnest. But I cannot run anymore because it's so bad. It used to be urge incontinence, when I just got home and got key in door but now it's almost continual. Our urology department has a very long waiting time and I've been on it for a year already.

So, if anyone has used one of these, I'm looking for recommendations. I'm desperate, if you'll pardon the pun.

I used to use a kegel8, they were the most recommended about 10 years ago.

I used it religiously for a few years as a preventative measure, but I'm still fully continent at close to 50 if that's any help?

It's the weirdest sensation, and I definitely couldn't cope with it now. A bit like your bits recoiling in disgust Grin

I'm going this way! I'm 48. Mine is mainly urge incontinence, but I can't hold my big morning wee in very well, and it sort of sprinkles out as I run to the loo... Wonderful. 😭

I have a Pelvic Floor exerciser, but only one of the simple plastic ones. It's so easy to use that I don't think my pelvic floor can be that bad. (This exerciser is meant to fall out if you have no control, but mine doesn't.)

If I could afford it, I'd buy one of the £150+ electric exercisers.

Oh, and -- do you smoke? That's meant to wreck your continence, for biological reasons I've never understood...

Look at hypopressives-much more effective than kegals. Also look at ourfitfamilylife on Instagram.

Finally, keep ringing the urology department asking if they have any cancellation slots. Keep pestering-squeaky wheel and all that.

Also ask if your GP can refer you to a women’s health physio, especially as problems started after delivery. Might be less wait?

I'd recommend biomechanist Katy Bowman for explanation of and exercises for pelvic floor dysfunction

Thanks, will try all of that. Just phoned the department - apparently my letter had been lost :0 so I'm in the system now with a star at my name for top priority. Jeeeez, if I'd never phoned up I'd never have gotten anywhere. It is women's physio - I'd got mixed up which is hardly surprising as I've been passed around the departments so many times I'm utterly sick of it.

FWIW I have never smoked, rarely drink, 1 cup of caffeinated coffee in morning , the rest is decaf, and am a healthy size 8 who is as fit as a flea. Just piss myself a lot. Lovely, just lovely!!!
