Is it thrush (breast) or something else??

Hi all,
First time mum of a 6 week and am struggling with breastfeeding...
I’ve recently recovered from a second bout of mastitis. The two instances were quite close together and I had antibiotics to treat the mastitis both times.
Mastitis is all cleared up but I now have a deep burning pain/shooting pain in my left breast after breastfeeding which lasts for some time. It also hurts when baby initially suckles whereas I have no pain when breastfeeding from the other breast. The affected breast also has a white spot on it (which I noticed on my second bout of mastitis). I’ve had the spot for about 3 weeks and no amount of breastfeeding has cleared it. I do have a fast let down so originally thought it was possibly a milk bleb caused by baby clamping down on my nipple but now coupled with the breast pain
I am not sure.
I think that with the above “symptoms” I might have thrush but the other breast is fine and I can’t see any white spots in babies mouth.I mentioned it when the HV came for my 6 week visit, but she was pretty useless and didn’t even look at the breast.
Do you think it could be thrush and is it worth making an appointment with my GP ASAP or waiting until mine & babies (belated) “6 week check up” on 21st October??

Google remedies for blebs. Might be one. I had them often, really sore. Hot shower, if you can bear it prick with sterile needle. If you are a spornet this will be good as white cream will come out. If you are not then you’ll have to see GP for ideas. Good luck. It’s horrible. If bleb remedies don’t help tonight I would get to GP ASAP in case it becomes mastitis again, it’s serious and you deserve to be seen as a matter of urgency.

PS I had blebs even without any clamping down and even after years of breastfeeding. They can just come even with a good latch etc etc. Not your fault or baby’s.
