Oh Christ, woken up in so much pain

4 days post my period, I've had some light cramping on and off since but about an hour ago I've just woken up in a lot of pain. It feels like it extends from behind my bellybutton, to my womb out to my hips and all the way down to the tops of my legs. It's really horrible and I've had to get up and make a hot water bottle up. Can't lie in bed, currently sat on the edge of the sofa trying not to cry/wake up the children and my husband

Does this sound familiar to anyone? What the hell is going on?

OccasionalNachos · 30/09/2019 05:23

I think you need to wake your husband up for help if you can’t access pain relief yourself

serenitybyjan · 30/09/2019 05:25

I've had some paracetamol, I've never had pain like this seemingly for no reason before

My daughter and I are having similar experiences for different reasons. She's in her 20s just found out via a scan she has huge ovarian cysts so is waiting for gynaecologist appointment.
I am late 40s and been having problems like this as I get closer to menopause. I'm opting for a hysterectomy. Can't take the pain any more, it's diminishing my life so much.
So there are all differe8reasons for awful gynae pain.
What I would say is DON'T put up with it.
Dr appointment asap. Sorry you're feeling awful. I know what it's like when the pain is that grim. And don't let yourself be fobbed off.

lolaflores · 30/09/2019 05:44

Any temperature? Nausea? Does it hurt to touch the area?

serenitybyjan · 30/09/2019 05:44

@Mummaofmytribe I'm 29, my mum was 42 when she has a full hysterectomy for similar reasons. I can't tell where the pain is coming from. Uterine, lower back, gut? I'm taking my baby for his jabs later so maybe I should book myself in.

If it's giving you that much pain and it's unusual for you, you should definitely book to see a doctor.

Hope you feel better soon.

lolaflores · 30/09/2019 05:52

Have u got your appendix?
Any nausea
Any chance it's a kidney stone?
Have u had a paracetamol yet to see if it helps.
If it's that severe pain A+E.

Fradishes · 30/09/2019 05:55

Sounds awful - I would definitely see a doctor or call 111 as soon as you can. Sudden severe pain behind belly button can be a symptom of appendicitis -www.nhs.uk/conditions/appendicitis/symptoms/

serenitybyjan · 30/09/2019 08:56

Ring 111, going to hospital. Thank you everybody. I've been rocking backwards and forwards with a cushion pressed to my stomach. My mum has collected my boys and I'm feeling guilty already

Hospital now x

bobstersmum · 30/09/2019 09:35

I've had this pain with urine infection, I didn't have any temperature. Drink lots of water and get seen asap.

Houseworkavoider · 30/09/2019 09:37

Good luck at the hospital Flowers
I hope they sort it for you quickly

serenitybyjan · 30/09/2019 15:07

They're thinking gallbladder. Went to the smaller more local hospital to save me going to the nearest city hospital 15 miles away. Pain not going so they've said if I'm the same tomorrow I need to go to the bigger hospital and get some tests and a scan. I've been sent home to get some rest. The practitioner I saw seemed pretty certain it's a gallstone but that I'm quite young to have that. We will see what the next 24 hours brings 🤷‍♀️

At least you can relax at home, it’s not easy resting in hospitals! Hope you feel better soon Flowers

Houseworkavoider · 02/10/2019 09:21

How are you feeling now? I hope your pain has eased.

serenitybyjan · 02/10/2019 10:28

It comes and goes and when it does, it's bloody horrible. Had a load of bloods taken, they've put me on omeprazole (Dr thinks it's fine inflamed stomach lining). Thank you for being so lovely on my whingey thread! Thanks

Dizzywizz · 02/10/2019 21:24

Ah @serenitybyjan I hope you start to feel a bit better soon

SinkGirl · 02/10/2019 21:32

Hope you’re okay.

I have endometriosis, have had ovarian cysts and have had gallstones / infected gallbladder and pancreatitis. This doesn’t sound like gallbladder issues to me as the pain is usually higher, think just under your breasts and radiating from there.

This sounds more like an ovarian cyst, or maybe ovarian torsion especially with the pain into your legs

How old is your baby? Did you have a c section? Have they scanned you?

Seahorseshoe · 20/10/2019 10:43

@serenitybyjan how are you? Did they find out what the problem was??

serenitybyjan · 20/10/2019 10:50

@Seahorseshoe it was an inflamed stomach lining from my meds. Given omeprazole and seems to be fine now. So lovely of you to ask!

OP posts:
lolaflores · 20/10/2019 14:03

I am glad to hear that too. It really sound awful and frightening. What meds were they? Remind me never to take them

Dizzywizz · 20/10/2019 15:31

Glad to hear it, my dh was on something that he had to make sure he took omeprazole with them as well

Namaste6 · 23/10/2019 06:42

@serenitybyjan glad to read that you are feeling better. 💐. I had that very same diagnosis a few years back. The most intense pain outside labour.
