Apologies in advance!

Every now and then I get a weird colour discharge with a greenish tinge, I know sounds gross right. I've been screened for chlamydia and gonorrhoea so I know it's neither of them. It comes and goes with no weird smell or other symptoms but I'm still a bit worried. Really don't want to go to the gp if I can help it.

Does anyone else have these occasional anomalies?!

No. Go to the GP!

Sugartits27 · 17/09/2019 18:49

I'm not talking like fluorescent green or anything btw 🙈

Why on earth wouldn't you go to the gp? Clearly, this is an issue that needs treatment.

Sugartits27 · 17/09/2019 18:52

Embarrassment I guess. I know it sounds childish. And because I know that two of the nasty infections have been ruled out. I did a home STI test for those.

You could have a bacterial infection. Green discharge is not normal and it's a clear sign something is wrong. Stop relying on home tests to diagnose your condition and see a gp.

Sugartits27 · 17/09/2019 18:57

Would they see/treat me for this at the GP or would they make me go to a gum clinic? It isn't consistent, it just kind of appears once in a while. I wasn't sure if it was something to do with my cycle

For heavens sake woman just go to the GP. How is the GP any worse than a clinic?! Why are you doubting whether they’ll see you? You’ve got something wrong (probably bacterial)....GPs are there to treat people are they not? You’ve been tested for certain things which have come back negative...why are you still putting off the docs?

gamerchick · 17/09/2019 19:26

Tbh you're better off going to the GUM clinic. It's their area and you need a full screen.

It's nothing embarrassing or shameful. People need to take care of their sexual health, it's important.

Sugartits27 · 17/09/2019 19:31

I would rather go to the GP. I just know that a lot of GPs don't deal with this sort of stuff anymore and would likely send me to the gum clinic.

I don't think I need a full screen as I've already tested for the two most common bacterial STIs which came back negative.

Advice noted, will try and get an appointment

@ratatata to clarify I did the other tests at home because I am a total wuss about the doctors especially for personal things like this but I will put on my big girl pants and get sorted

Are you sure it's a green sort of colour and not yellow? Cervical mucus can be yellow white or clear around the time of ovulation.

moonpiggle · 17/09/2019 19:55

BV?

Sugartits27 · 17/09/2019 20:11

It has a yellowish greenish tinge. Certainly not fully green and doesn't happen all the time. I'm on the pill though so don't ovulate as such
