Why am I having such bad health? Iv only just turned 30, slim, eat well lots of fruit and veg and moderately active yet this year alone iv Had - viral meningitis caused by a cmv infection that my body won’t fight yet most people have cmv and don’t even know! Persistent 24/7 headache, sickness, vision loss, dizziness that has lasted 7 months! MRIs and bloods seem normal! Been diagnosed with pre diabetes! Even though I am slim, healthy, fit and eat well! I seem to have allergies to EVERYTHING now, sleep apnea just been diagnosed! Swollen tongue in and off, severe acne, fatigue, gall bladder polyp, bening throat tumour! I’m scared before 8 months ago I was PERFECTLY healthy ! Nothing was wrong now all off this! There are days I just can’t go on but my children keep me going! I have no answers to anything yet this can’t just come out of nowhere?!! It started December with fever and headaches which turned to viral meningitis and since then all of this has happened INCLUDING the sleep apnea, the only thing that was there last year was gall bladder polyp and throat tumour, I feel like they are missing something !

Sounds awful. I would go back to your gp for a double appointment with everything that's wrong written down in a list like you have here and explain that you were healthy and now have all these illnesses and what can they suggest in terms of possible underlying causes and also a plan going forward to regain your health. They need to look at you holistically and really try and work out what's going on. I would even consider having a private health screening as this must all be affecting your life so much.

Thank you for your reply, no one at the doctors really knows what to do with me, they have sent me to a infectious disease specialist but his just done the same blood tests. I feel lost so lost :( even if I had a really bad diagnosis atleast I would know what’s causing it all and try and fight it. The not knowing is frightening and everyday I’m getting worse. I’m currently in bed with blurred vision and the world spinning . It never goes away not for a second, I’m going to have to stop driving . I literally have no life now apart from sitting in darkness as the lights hurt my eyes . Iv had an mri this morning and some bloods taken I hope something come to light as this is not fair on me or my children :( thank you for replying it helps that someone listened xx

Try a ketogenic diet (though ensure you get enough electrolytes: magnesium, sodium, potassium and calcium) to prevent keto flu. This can help manage your pre-diabetes and prevent you getting full blown diabetes. There are tonnes of helpful videos by Dr. Ken Berry and Dr. Berg on youtube to help you find out information but the basic rule is using fat for energy rather than carbs/sugar x

At the very least reduce your sugar/carb intake (including too much bread, pasta, rice etc) because that will not be helping your eyes. Liver is amazing for your eye health and has more vitamins and minerals than virtually any other food. Ox or lamb is best. I appreciate it's not very palatable but you notice the benefit straight away.

Ahh thank you so much, I will look that diet up! Something has to help . Thank you for your reply xx

Have you had your eyes tested at the optician as well? They will be able to see if there's anything going on with your eyes at least. Sorry you're feeling so ill it's so difficult as your health affects everything and it's hard to have good mental health when your quality of life has deteriorated so much.

AquarianSquirrel · 12/07/2019 02:04

No problem. Hope it helps. I second what Tinprincess says about going to the opticians too. Better to be safe than sorry.
