Pelvic floor support for long hike

Hello. I had a baby 10 months ago and had a very slight cystocele (bladder prolapse). I had no significant symptoms apart from less intense orgasms and feeling weaker in my pelvic floor, particularly after exercising or a long day. My prolapse has (my women’s health physio told me) almost reversed itself with exercises etc. I now no longer see her but do exercises at home with Elvie.

I am a keen walker and will be walking a marathon for charity. I have been training (walking 1-2 hours everyday) and had no issues with my pelvic floor so far, but I am worried that walking that distance might make my prolapse worse. Are their any pessaries designed to prevent prolapse rather than manage it? If yes, can i get it over the counter?

Thanks!

Pesseries have to be fitted by a health professional, as you have to be measured etc. So not available over the counter. Although people use sea sponges (?) which I think can be bought on line. But I'm also not sure how much use it would be if your prolapse has almost reversed itself.

The PF muscles become tired after exercise (like any other.) in terms of the marathon, I'd maybe try and up your distance a little further up until the walk (like if you were running it) it make sure you're comfortable.

On the day, I'd wear a properly fitted backpack and carry only the bare essentials. I've read you can get supportive pants / shorts - not sure how they work, maybe by compression?) so if you can get a pair, they might also be useful for supporting longer walks.
