Endometrial Ablation second thoughts

Hi I know there are a few threads on here about ablation however I have my pre op next week and for some reason I have a niggling doubt in my head that I do not want to have the ablation done.
I suffer from iron deficiency and have Adenomyosis. I have read that for people with adenomyosis the ablation has less of a success rate. I’m 42 family is complete, I’m thinking I should just suffer the heavy periods until menopause.

I need to lose weight before being considered for a hysterectomy which I will be happy to do.

Any experiences on ablation good or bad would be greatly appreciated

The best thing I did. Amazing. It virtually stopped my periods and I feel loads better.

It literally gave me back my life.

My whole life was consumed by managing my periods - they were long, dehabillitating and incredibly painful.
Now I don’t even notice them.

The trouble with suffering heavy periods until menopause is that menopause could be years away. I’m in my 50s and no sign of periods stopping. I have a friend who is 55, still regular, another is 58. I have adenomyosis & had an ablation last week. I don’t know how it will work out as ‘the cavity was too large’ for the novasure to get all the endometrial tissue. I’m really anemic despite taking iron supplements and am hoping to feel better soon.

Hi i was offered endometrial ablation due to fibroids heavy bleeding and suffering pelvic pain since teens. I instead opted for the mirena coil and has stopped my pelvic pain and periods are so much lighter. I was really heavy before. I am 41 and no children so opted against ablation.

It changed my sister's life. She was also 42. She is now 52 and not menopausal. This could go on for years.

I had it done at 36. 3 years later and still no periods and it's amazing.
