My hysterectomy was best thing I ever did, after having DS :) No attachments for me so can't advise on that... Stock up on peppermint tea because they blow you up like a balloon to do the surgery and the gas really hurts!

What are your symptoms?

LoveRainbow02 · 13/06/2019 21:19

I 2nd stocking up on peppermint tea or capsules for after the surgery. I had a laparoscopy 3 years ago and the pain with the gas was terrible!

I had both last year, had attachments, but not bladder. Really be ready to take it easy for a couple of weeks. Ask for a doctor note for two weeks if you can, even before you go in for the operation (the drs can be hard to find afterwards!) and it will mean you can avoid a trip to gp. if you had a cs then i'm fairly sure it won't be much in comparison :)

Silversky70 I had always suffered a bad tummy pain after my section it would come and go. Have struggled ttc a second child have been trying since Oct 2017. Referred to see about fertility had my appointment in march and they seen on an internal scan that the womb and bladder are fused together. Actually ended up finding out I was pregnant at end of march but lost it 4 days later so really hoping the op helps me xx

I've only had a laparoscopy and one thing I will say is you're most likely going to get severe gas pain after surgery. I honestly thought I was having a heart attack it was so horrendously painful! Your experience might be different however. Like the previous poster said, definitely stock up on some Rennie peppermint to relieve it. All the best. Xo

I had a hysteroscopy and uterus biopsy late last year. Was a nervous wreck as first time having surgery and didn't like the thought of having GA. I asked for local anaesthetic or conscious sedation but due to past problems, having tight retroverted cervix, being very nervous they wanted me to be completely knocked out. They also persuaded me to have a mirena fitted to stop.the heavy bleeding. Dont remember having GA or falling asleep as they did everything very quick in anaesthetic room and was in recovery after half hour even though felt like 2 seconds! So far so good and no pelvic pain or heavy bleeding. Been warned by gynae that I will at some point need an ablation or laparoscopy and finslky later on a hysterectomy which I am not looking forward to.
