Finding a lump

Posting to hear from anyone with a similar experience because I know there’s not much I can do until I see the GP.
I have a lump in my right breast. I thought it was coming and going with my period and assumed hormones but I’ve noticed it’s there all the time. It feels quite big, hard and occasionally aches. I also have the sensation of leaking but I don’t think anything has come out (I finished breastfeeding my only child over 6 years ago). Anyone else had this? What was the outcome?

Hi,

I've found a lump in my left breast one month ago. I've given birth to my baby girl in February and breastfed her for a month. The lump isn't painful although I've noticed recently I get shooting pain in the left breast but I'm not sure if the reason for that could be that I hold my baby on my chest on that side as that's the way that comforts her best.
When I found that lump I had a gp appointment the very next day and I've been urgently referred to have it checked properly but until today I haven't received a letter. I called the surgery today and they said they will it chase for me. The gp has said that it doesn't seem to be serious but it's better to get it scanned to be on the safe side.
One of my friends also found a lump on her breast, she has never been pregnant but stopped contraception more than 6 months ago. She had a scan and it's all clear. But her lump was painful.
My post doesn't really help you but I also want to see what others will say as I'm really stressed about it.

I forgot to mention that I've got one more friend who has found a lump (couple of years ago), she has never been pregnant too, the lump wasn't painful and it's still there but the scan revealed that it's not cancerous.

Hi OP. It could be either a fibroadenoma or a cyst both of which can fluctuate in size in response to hormones. I've recently been to the Dr with a lump that he thought was a fibroadenoma but he said that breast lumps should always be referred to the breast clinic for proper evaluation so you are doing the right thing visiting your gp.

P.s. forgot to say that both things I mentioned can cause aching (especially if big). I haven't experienced the sensation of leaking though.

2 months ago I found a lump in my right breast. Was kind of achey and tender but looking back, I think my consciousness and prodding of it made it so.
I got an urgent 2 week referral from my gp who I thought would dismiss it straight away but instead said... oh yes, definitely a lump there.
Booked me in for a mammogram (boobs too dense) ultrasound scan, and a biopsy 2 weeks later. The sonographer said it was 50.50 as the lump was solid and not a cyst which they could have drained there and then, .
Spent literally a month off my life panicking and researching everything it could be but thankfully it turned out to be a fibroadenoma as most lumps do.
Chances are yours is too, especially if you are going through hormonal changes. Doesn't help the worry though. The important thing is to get it all checked out ASAP x
